The Chinese version of Three Days To See is a book I’ve read when I was a primary school student. I picked its English version up this time for I wanted to sense the beauty of English itself. The second reason is that I want to improve my listening. Because this book has its English recording.

在我还是小学生的时候就已经看过了《假如给我三天光明》的中文版。这次我看的是英文版，一方面是想感知英语的语言美，另一方面是想提高听力。因为这本书有英文录音。

Most of us must be quite familiar with the content of this book. It is a story about a girl called Keller who became deaf and blind when she was only 19 months old because of a serious illness. She was taught and encouraged by her teacher Miss Sullivan and got brilliant success after the perseverance she kept on pursuing.

大多数人对这本书的内容一定非常熟悉了。这是关于一个叫做凯勒的女孩的故事。这个女孩在她19个月大的时候因为重病而变成了盲聋人。她受到她的老师莎莉文小姐的教导和鼓励，最终在她坚持不屑的追求后，取得了卓越的成功。

Here I’d like to share something new after I read this book.

这里我想分享一些读这本书的新的感受。

First, I have to say that the reading of this book is so nice that I really enjoy it while I listen to it. I plan to listen to it for half an hour per day. I do believe it will be good for my listening. At the very beginning, it’s really difficult for me to understand the reading, however things will be changed if you can keep on trying. The more I listen, the better understanding I get.

首先，我不得不说这本书的朗读真的很美。听朗读的时候真的如同一种享受。我计划每天都听半小时。我坚信这会对我的听力有很大的帮助。起初听起来的确很费劲，但是一切都随着坚持而发生改变。我听得越多，理解也就越多。

Second, I make a list of the new words appear in this book and try to recite them. I have looked through all the new words and 60% of them have been recited. As we all know that vocabulary is important for English learning. But it’s also a fact that words are difficult for us to recite especially for me who has been a mom of two daughters. Fortunately, I haven’t lost the interest in learning, which makes the reciting more and more challenging and meaningful.

第二点，我把出现在这本书中的新单词全部列出来并且努力记住。我已经把所有的新单词浏览了一遍，并且把60%已经记下来了。我们都知道词汇学习对于英语学习的重要性，但是对于我们而言能够把这些词记下来，尤其是我这个有着两个女儿的妈妈来言是多么的困难，幸运的是，我对学习还没有丧失兴趣，这让记忆单词变得具有挑战性和有意义。

At last, I want to emphasize that reading English books is necessary for us English teachers. From the book, we can get much from The Three Days To See. For Keller, the first day, she should like to gaze long upon the face of her teacher. The second day, she should arise with the dawn and see the thrilling miracle by which night is transformed into day. The following morning, she should again greet the dawn, anxious to discover new delights, for she is sure that, for those who have eyes which really see, the dawn of each day must be a perpetually new revelation of beauty. How beautiful these words are! If we can take them down, then read and recite, our writing must be improved in this way.

最后，我想要强调的是读英文书对我们老师的必要性。从《假如给我三天光明》这本书中我们可以得到很多。对于凯勒而言，第一天她要认真的凝视老师；第二天，他要迎接黎明的到来，感受黑夜变成白昼的壮观；最后一天的早晨，她要再次迎接黎明，急切的发现新的快乐，因为她确定，对于那些拥有双眼可以看到光明的人，每天的黎明一定都是对美的一种新的发现。多么美的语言啊！如果我们能够把它们记录下来并且朗读和记忆，我们的写作也一定会通过这种方式得到提高。
