Closely following Cook-for-Hope, we raised another ¥20,000 at the ISB Spring Fair on May 7, in which many had contributed generously many goodies for sale. This ¥20,000 was used to cover the logistics cost to send 2 babies to HongKong for their surgeries. We also sponsored an elective procedure to correct one boy's eye problem. We covered only a small portion of the total cost required, but would still like to share their stories with all.
Fangfang is a beautiful 19 month old who travelled to Hong Kong to have her 3rd major surgery, an anoplasty surgery to give her an anus on May 20. She needed a colostomy surgery to save her life when she was an infant. She was also born with a congenital heart disease and had heart surgery with the Hong Kong Adventist Heart Fund in January 2016. The good news is that after her 3rd major surgery, in about 4 weeks she will be adopted. We are very pleased for her. Yuanyuan is a 17 month old girl who travelled to Hong Kong in April to have a surgery to do minor changes so that the external parts appeared more normal for a girl her age. She is a beautiful girl who has all the chromosomes of a girl and all the internal organs of a girl, but she was born with an endocrine problem that causes her hormones to be off balance and her external genitals to be ambiguous. Other than needing to take hormones by mouth every day for the rest of her life, she can now lead a normal life and hopefully will be able to have children of her own. She is from Zhengzhou CWI, and she is very bright and full of life. She is currently in the Beijing Hope Healing Home on the 1st floor. Sha Sha is an almost 4 year old boy in Zhengzhou with a congenital heart disease, an ear problem, and some developmental delay. He is a happy boy who can walk with a walker now. Recently, he has an eye problem that needs an elective eye procedure to correct his eyelashes turning up under the eyelid, causing him much discomfort. 爱❤️坊 will sponsor the 8,000RMB procedure at the Zhengzhou Henan Provincial Hospital to help his eyes. This will improve his day to day life.
