临江仙
夜饮东坡醒复醉，
归来仿佛三更。
家童鼻息已雷鸣，
敲门都不应，
倚仗听江声。
长恨此身非我有，
何时忘却营营。
夜阑风静縠纹平。
小舟从此逝，
江海寄余生。

Su Dongpo
Tune: The Riverside Fairy
I drifted in and out of drunkenness
In a drinking bout there at Dongpo,
And came home in small hours to a locked door,
Wherein thundered the servant boy’s snore.
So I stayed outside, rested on my cane,
And listened to th’ waves lapping on the shore.
I have long loathed this fettered life of mine:
With so much pettiness it burdened be!
How I yearned, in that serene, windless night,
When th’ river was running smooth and carefree,
To take a little boat and put to sea,
To go wherever the current takes me!
