【第1474篇日记】Why or why not will you ban mobiles in your Chinese class?

<p class="ql-block">  The advantages and disadvantages</p><p class="ql-block">of using mobiles and tables in the</p><p class="ql-block">class are equally obvious.On one hand</p><p class="ql-block">it is convenient to look up words in the</p><p class="ql-block">dictionary and download some </p><p class="ql-block">multimedia materials to aid the </p><p class="ql-block">learning,like a real person's</p><p class="ql-block"> pronunciation for a word;but on the </p><p class="ql-block">other hand,being exposed to loads of</p><p class="ql-block">online information will apparently </p><p class="ql-block">district the students from learning and</p><p class="ql-block">affect the teaching and learning of the</p><p class="ql-block">whole class.</p><p class="ql-block"> To sum it up,I don't think I should</p><p class="ql-block">ban mobiles or tables in class,but I</p><p class="ql-block">do believe that it is quite necessary to</p><p class="ql-block">regulate the use of mobiles or tables.</p><p class="ql-block">That's to say there must be a rule over it .If the school already has such a rule</p><p class="ql-block">I must follow that,even if it forbids</p><p class="ql-block">the students to use.However,if</p><p class="ql-block"> there's no such rule yet,I need to</p><p class="ql-block">make our own one together with my </p><p class="ql-block">students.</p><p class="ql-block"> First, I need to "say what I mean",</p><p class="ql-block">which means I should make it crystal</p><p class="ql-block">clear in what conditions the students</p><p class="ql-block">are and are not allowed to use mobiles</p><p class="ql-block">For example,it will be okey if they </p><p class="ql-block">need a quick looking up in the </p><p class="ql-block">electronic dictionary,but it won't be</p><p class="ql-block"> fine if they use the mobile when a </p><p class="ql-block">whole-class activity is ongoing.</p><p class="ql-block"> Meanwhile,I also need to make it </p><p class="ql-block">clear how long the students are</p><p class="ql-block"> allowed to use their mobiles.A brief</p><p class="ql-block">use is certainly fine but they can't do</p><p class="ql-block">that all the time,because mobiles </p><p class="ql-block">and tables are just an aid to the </p><p class="ql-block">learning,but not the aim.</p><p class="ql-block"> Second,when the rule is already</p><p class="ql-block">there,I need to "mean what I say",</p><p class="ql-block">which means I should strictly carry out</p><p class="ql-block">the rule we've made in order to ensure</p><p class="ql-block">the teaching and learning will be least</p><p class="ql-block">affected.If a student breaks the rule,</p><p class="ql-block">he or she has got to be warned,and if</p><p class="ql-block">he or she keeps breaking it over and </p><p class="ql-block">over again,I ought to do something</p><p class="ql-block">more severe,like confiscating the</p><p class="ql-block">mobile until the end of the class.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p>
