<p class="ql-block"> You have been told to cover a lesson</p><p class="ql-block">for your colleague，but when you are</p><p class="ql-block">about to start to teach，you suddenly</p><p class="ql-block">find you have been wrongly told，and</p><p class="ql-block">what you have prepared is not for the</p><p class="ql-block">lesson today.What will you do next?</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">In this case，I won't have time to</p><p class="ql-block"> blame anyone.I just have limited time</p><p class="ql-block">to adjust my original plan，but by no</p><p class="ql-block">means should I teach the "right"lesson</p><p class="ql-block">today.There are two reasons.</p><p class="ql-block"> First，I wasn't asked to teach that</p><p class="ql-block">lesson，and I can't make decision</p><p class="ql-block">without talking to the teacher.Maybe</p><p class="ql-block">he or she has prepared for that lesson</p><p class="ql-block">so I'm not the right person，anyway.</p><p class="ql-block">Second，at that time，probably I'm</p><p class="ql-block">not prepared for the "right"lesson，so</p><p class="ql-block"> it is unfair for the students，the </p><p class="ql-block">teacher and myself，if I insist on</p><p class="ql-block"> teaching it.</p><p class="ql-block"> Therefore，in my opinion，a </p><p class="ql-block">revision or a review and some </p><p class="ql-block">extensions will fit that situation.I can</p><p class="ql-block">give the students some different tasks</p><p class="ql-block">to revise previous lessons ，and I can</p><p class="ql-block">also teach a tiny bit of new things</p><p class="ql-block"> based on those lessons.</p><p class="ql-block"> After the lesson，I should let the</p><p class="ql-block">teacher know a few things，including</p><p class="ql-block"> the fact that I was told to teach a</p><p class="ql-block">wrong lesson，and what the students and I did in today's lesson，so the</p><p class="ql-block">teacher will have a better</p><p class="ql-block"> understanding of the progress and the</p><p class="ql-block">next lesson won't be affected.</p><p class="ql-block"> I think I should also learn something</p><p class="ql-block">from today's mistake，though it didn't</p><p class="ql-block">seem to be mine.Next time when I </p><p class="ql-block">have to cover a lesson，I will have to</p><p class="ql-block">double check with the teacher about</p><p class="ql-block">the progress of course，my role，the</p><p class="ql-block">students' tasks，et cetera，to make</p><p class="ql-block">sure the teaching and learning will be</p><p class="ql-block">on track.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p>
