<2025非物质文化遗产国际峰会>暨<2025多伦多国际名家书法艺术展>于Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (NCCT)应期举行,这是首次在多伦多大学校园内来自各族裔的非物质文化遗产艺术家和中华书法艺术家的深度交流尝试。本次<2025多伦多国际名家书法艺术展>是加拿大中国书画院策划主办的继<2024多伦多国际书画展>续篇,受到中国书法学会(台湾)和澳大利亚书法协会大力支持,有国际15个国家和地区的51位书法艺术家共54幅书法精品参展。此次展览与国际学术论坛融合,兼学术和艺术一体,恰当地体现了艺术与科学的互补互正理念。艺术更多主观性,偏于情感和个性,而科学则重于客观和理性。艺术和科学的结合碰撞更可谓情理之中的人文发展方向。参展艺术家汇聚了国际书壇领帅,名笔大家,亦有跨界精英翘楚,虽主旨书体为甲骨文,也兼有真 行草隶篆各体,无愧国际书壇顶级水平,充分体现了中华书法艺术的博大精深,更绝无惶让于任何其他艺术。展览当中加拿大中国书画院院长石介和常务副院长毕云来详细深入向参加活动的嘉宾和观众介绍展览,大家热烈交流艺术与生活心得。论坛期间,ICH执行董事兼GCHN 主席 Angela Liu 为专程从北京赶来的中国三百年中医世家传承人,中国国家一级艺术大师萨王大熊猫文化创始人王敏颁发了Pioneer </p><p class="ql-block">她重点提到了一个加拿大的历史:</p><p class="ql-block">加拿大原住民寄宿学校制度(Residential School System)是19世纪至20世纪末由政府与基督教会联合运营的强制同化体系。其目标是消除原住民文化,强迫儿童远离家庭,接受欧洲中心主义教育。全国共设立139所寄宿学校,约15万名原住民儿童受到影响。</p><p class="ql-block">2021年,加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚省发现215具儿童遗骸,揭示了该制度的暴行,随后的调查发现更多无名墓。寄宿学校的儿童经历了肉体与精神虐待、语言禁用、营养不良、性侵等严重虐待,许多儿童在校期间死亡,且身份无法追溯。</p><p Exhibition</p><p class="ql-block">On February 26, 2025, the 2025 International Summit on Intangible Cultural Heritage and the 2025 Toronto International Masters’ Calligraphy and Arts Exhibition, hosted by Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and co-organized by the Canadian Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy, took place as scheduled at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (NCCT). This event marked the first in-depth cultural exchange in the University of Toronto campus between intangible cultural heritage artists from diverse ethnic backgrounds and Chinese calligraphy masters.</p><p class="ql-block">The 2025 Toronto International Masters’ Calligraphy and Arts Exhibition was a continuation of the 2024 Toronto International Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, curated and organized by the Canadian Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy. It received strong support from the China Calligraphy Society (Taiwan) and the Australian Calligraphy Association. The exhibition featured 51 calligraphy artists from 15 countries and regions, showcasing a total of 54 masterpieces.</p><p class="ql-block">The exhibition was seamlessly integrated with the international academic forum, combining both academic and artistic perspectives. This fusion aptly demonstrated the complementary nature of art and science—art, being more subjective, emotional, and individualistic, contrasts with science, which emphasizes objectivity and rationality. The intersection of these two disciplines reflects a natural direction for the evolution of human culture.</p><p class="ql-block">The exhibition brought together renowned leaders in international calligraphy, celebrated calligraphy masters, and outstanding cross-disciplinary figures. While the primary focus was Oracle Bone Script, the exhibition also featured Regular, Running, Cursive, Clerical, and Seal scripts, showcasing the profound depth of Chinese calligraphy at the highest international level.</p><p class="ql-block">During the exhibition, Shi Jie, President of the Canadian Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and Bi Yunlai, Executive Vice President, provided an in-depth introduction of the exhibition to attending guests and audiences, leading to enthusiastic discussions on the intersection of art and daily life.</p><p class="ql-block">As part of the forum, Angela Liu, Executive Director of ICH and Chair of GCHN, presented the Pioneer Award to Wang Min, a third-generation heir of a 300-year-old Chinese traditional medicine family, a Chinese National First-Class Art Master, and the founder of Panda Culture. Wang Min had traveled from Beijing for the event, and the award recognized his exceptional contributions to intangible cultural heritage.</p> <p class="ql-block">The event was also supported by the North America Asia International Cultural Exchange Promotion Association (NACA). Among the exhibiting artists present were President Pan Dezhang, Li Yun, and Lei Chuanxiang. Other distinguished guests supporting cultural and artistic exchange included Zhong Xinsheng, Chairman of the All-Canada Chinese Federation, Bao Yiming, Deputy Secretary-General of the Canadian Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Huang Haitao, descendant of Huang Junbi, one of the “Three Masters Who Crossed the Sea”, Maggie Wang, Board Member of North America Zhonghong Calligraphy Academy, and cultural supporters Liu Likun, Wu Baoyan, Liao Hongzhen, Wang Yanchun, and Wang Zhenyu, all of whom attended the full-day event. Its goal was to eradicate Indigenous culture by forcibly removing children from their families and subjecting them to Eurocentric education. A total of 139 residential schools were established, affecting approximately 150,000 Indigenous children.</p><p class="ql-block">In 2021, the discovery of 215 unmarked graves at a former residential school in British Columbia exposed the system’s atrocities. Further investigations uncovered more mass graves across Canada. Children in these schools suffered physical and psychological abuse, were forbidden from speaking their native languages, endured malnutrition, sexual violence, and neglect, and many died under unknown circumstances, their identities lost.</p><p class="ql-block">In 2008, the Canadian government issued a formal apology and offered compensation. However, Indigenous groups criticized the slow response and the church’s refusal to release historical records. The legacy of residential schools continues to impact survivors and their descendants, leading to mental health crises, cultural loss, and ongoing land rights struggles.
