<p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Today, Sunday, January 12, 2025, we walked<span style="color:rgb(237, 35, 8);"> 15.5 km</span> from Lake Mckellar Lodge to Lake Mackenzie Lodge. </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">My backpack felt light because Ben, Fred, and Edie each carried some of my gear. That’s something money can’t buy, and I desperately need their help. Without them, I don’t think I can make it.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Our guide, Nik, offered Alice two options: take a helicopter to Queenstown or continue on the journey. Unfortunately, they have become uncontrolled and pose a threat to native birds and their eggs. We are working to control their population, but it’s not an easy task.
