At first, like most people, the completeness in my eyes was nothing more than the absence of superficial appearances, a mere formality of perfection. The ups and downs of every line and the texture of every piece of material carry the words that the artist wants to express deep inside. The Venus statues with broken arms and Beethoven statues with missing ears, although lacking in form, have not prevented them from becoming shining treasures in art history. It is precisely because of these imperfections that the work is endowed with endless imaginative space, allowing viewers to penetrate through the surface and directly reach the core idea of the work, touching the artist's passionate soul during creation. In the intense collision and gentle blending of Eastern and Western cultures, I gradually realized that purity and perfection are like mirrors, flowers, water, and moon, seemingly beautiful but difficult to achieve. And those things that are flawed and not pure enough actually have a different kind of affinity. They are like blank spaces in life, waiting for us to fill and create. I am trying to draw inspiration from the nutrients of "blank space" and "artistic conception" in traditional Chinese aesthetics, while also drawing on the bold innovation of form and material in Western modern art. In the work 'Years Like Songs', I intentionally left some unpolished parts to complement the original texture of the material and the carefully crafted parts. This seemingly incomplete handling is actually my practice of the concept of 'incomplete completeness'.
