<p class="ql-block">"Teaching colour blind students </p><p class="ql-block">'colour' words"actually involves at least</p><p class="ql-block">two kinds of work.One is about how to </p><p class="ql-block">teach them,and the other is about</p><p class="ql-block"> how to take their needs into our </p><p class="ql-block">consideration and how to benefit them</p><p class="ql-block"> First,when we teach "colour"</p><p class="ql-block">words,one of the most important</p><p class="ql-block">things we need to pay attention to is </p><p class="ql-block">setting up the direct link between a </p><p class="ql-block">colour and a typical object.For </p><p class="ql-block">example,it would be better if </p><p class="ql-block">students could learn lanes from the </p><p class="ql-block">sky and the sea rather than the</p><p class="ql-block">English word "blue"or any shape </p><p class="ql-block">printed in blue.The typical object-colour link applies to all the students.</p><p class="ql-block">People with colour blind ness also </p><p class="ql-block">have the same knowledge that the sky</p><p class="ql-block">or the sea is blue .They just can't see</p><p class="ql-block"> the "real"colour of the sky or the sea.</p><p class="ql-block"> Second,we,as teachers,need</p><p class="ql-block"> to take relevant matters into our </p><p class="ql-block">considerations in order to benefit him or her.</p><p class="ql-block"> If a person is colour blind,it </p><p class="ql-block">doesn't mean that the world is </p><p class="ql-block">completely colourless in his or her</p><p class="ql-block"> eyes.He or she can't tell a certain</p><p class="ql-block"> colour from another,but he or she </p><p class="ql-block">can recognise other colours with no</p><p class="ql-block">question.The red-green colour</p><p class="ql-block"> blind ness is the most common.</p><p class="ql-block"> Therefore,we should keep this</p><p class="ql-block"> student in mind and adjust something</p><p class="ql-block">for them when we adopt colour-coded</p><p class="ql-block">methods.For example,if something</p><p class="ql-block">needs to be highlighted in different</p><p class="ql-block">colours,we need to try our best not </p><p class="ql-block">to use red and green at the same time.</p><p class="ql-block">Of course,we don't need to mention</p><p class="ql-block">a single word showing it's specially </p><p class="ql-block">adopted for colour blind students lest</p><p class="ql-block">they should be upset.</p>
