During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Buddhist Dharma gradually shone brightly. The Vinaya or precepts were incomplete, and the sages regarded it as the source and treasure of Buddhism. After going through hardships, they reached India, passing through the western regions or kingdoms, visiting various Buddhist temples and brilliant lords or scholars. Finally, carrying scriptures, escaping the perils of the sea route. "Record of Faxian" was presented, the Western Regions or states were detailed introduced. In particular, records of meritorious deeds of Dharma practice, customs, food, and costumes were complete. Exhibiting all the scenes seen and heard, historical materials and documents emerged.
