<p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;"><i>Welcome to Meiyu's …</i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;"><i>Celebrating Culture Day!</i></b></p><p class="ql-block"> On Wednesday and Thursday , Meiyu held a special event where our students had the incredible opportunity to explore and celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of six different countries: Mexico, Brazil, New Zealand, Egypt, Rome and Singapore. Each country has a unique heritage, and we have prepared a variety of fun and active activities that will allow students to immerse themselves in the traditions, languages, and customs of these vibrant cultures.</p><p class="ql-block">Our Culture Day is designed to be an exciting and educational journey. Students will rotate between six themed stations, each representing one of the countries. At each station, they will participate in hands-on activities! </p><p class="ql-block">This engaging approach ensures that learning about different cultures is not only informative but also enjoyable. </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">We also combined this special day with Children’s Day. As a special treat for the wonderful children of Meiyu, they enjoyed a movie afternoon complete with delicious popcorn! 🍿</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;"><i>Mexico 🇲🇽</i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;">Led by myself and teacher Sarah, the students at Meiyu embarked on a Mexican journey of music and dancing, embracing it’s culture by making their very own maracas, to shake to the music!</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;"><i>Brazil 🇧🇷</i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;">Led by teachers Pierre and Harry, the students dived into the vibrant world of Brazil's rainforests. They immersed themselves in the heart of Brazil, enjoying the rhythms of Brazilian songs and dances while creating colorful masks. It was a lively and engaging experience that brought the wonders of Brazil to life!</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;"><i>New Zealand 🇳🇿</i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;">Led by teachers Richard and JV, K2B embarked on an exciting adventure to experience the rich culture of New Zealand! The students had endless fun with activities such as applying fake Māori tattoos, performing Haka chants, and playing rugby. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in the traditions of this fascinating country!</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;">Egypt 🇪🇬</b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;">Led by teacher Stefan and Lorette, the students discovered the joys of learning about this fascinating country, from its majestic pyramids to the mysteries of the pharaohs. One of the most exciting activities is excavating bones, just like real archaeologists. As they dig and uncover, they’ll learn about the ancient Egyptians and the secrets they left behind!</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;">Rome 🇮🇹</b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;">Led by teacher Gareth and Michael, K2B had the wonderful opportunity in exploring Rome, a city of incredible history and legendary tales! On that day, they dived into the joys of learning about ancient Rome, from its grand architecture to the lives of its famous citizens. One of the most exciting activities is racing in chariots, just like the ancient Romans did. As they race and learn, they uncovered the stories and achievements of this remarkable civilisation. </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;"><i>Singapore 🇸🇬</i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;">Welcome to the exploration of Singapore, a vibrant city known for its rich culture and stunning buildings! Led by teacher Jessica and Ivy, K2B experienced the joys of learning about Singapore, from its diverse traditions to its iconic skyline. One of the most exciting activities is coloring pictures of famous landmarks and playing traditional games. As we color and play, we'll discover the unique blend of cultures that make Singapore so special. </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:22px;">Children’s Day: Movie time! 🎥🍿</b></p> <p class="ql-block">The children of K2B have almost completed step 1 of the jolly phonics programme! Through engaging activities, songs, and stories, Jolly Phonics ensures that every child contributes and enjoys the learning process, fostering a love for reading and writing from the very beginning. Already, many of K2B through letter blending have the confidence and fluency to read easy to challenging words all by themselves! </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align:center;"><b style="font-size:20px;">Happy Children’s Day!
