They have all been exhausted from all the happiness! 🌈😁</i></b></p> <p class="ql-block">We started this unit with our first celebration World Book Day, the first one of the year and unit! On this special day, the children brought in their favourite books from home, as well as dressed in costumes they liked from their favourite books! </p> <p class="ql-block">In this same week, it was also the British calendar’s Mother’s Day! </p><p class="ql-block">All the students took their time and love to create floral themed cards for their Mums, as well as writing a special little message for their Mums too! </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 20px;"><i>Let’s take a look… </i></b></p> <p class="ql-block">Next celebration K2B looked into was…</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 22px;">International Women’s Day</b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 18px;">A day to celebrate women and their achievements. In this activity, the students had to draw a woman who has inspired them! 👩🏼🌾🏄🏽♀️🧘🏼♀️</span></p> <p class="ql-block">Throughout the past few weeks, we have also been exploring many different celebrations and festivals around the world! </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><b>Here are the wonderful festivals/celebrations we explored: </b></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><ul class="ql-block"><li>Hot Air Balloon Festival, America </li><li>La Tomatina, (Tomato Throwing Festival) Spain 🍅</li><li> Dis De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), Mexico 🍞💀</li><li>Easter (Around the world) 🐣</li><li>Songkran Water Festival, Thailand 💦</li><li>Fuji Shibizakura Festival, Japan 🌸 🗻</li><li>Yipeng Lantern Festival 🏮</li><li>Holi Festival of Colour 🎨</li></ul><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">After learning about these festivals and where they originate from, the students they chosen their favourite festival learned so far… here are some examples of the Student’s BEAUTIFUL yet creative drawings! 🤩</p> <p class="ql-block">Below you can see an activity to where K2B have been learning about Dia De Los Muertos, and colouring their own sugar skulls! </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 22px;">Easter 🐣🪺</b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block">A celebration of new life and Spring, what a wonderful way to learn about this celebration, through various Easter activities! </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">From decorating their own Easter decorations to Easter Eggs and even Rabbit Origami, the students were spoilt for choice on what to make first! What an impressionable way to learn about this celebration! 🎉🐣</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 20px;">April Fool’s Day!</b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block">This unique day is a day celebrated on April 1st, where tricks, pranks and jokes can be played on your friends! Though it’s origins are unclear, it was a unique day nonetheless for the students to learn about that was different to what they typically celebrate! </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">In Poland, an April Fool’s tradition is to stick paper fish onto someone’s back without them knowing! This is exactly what K2B did, first they created their own fish and then had fun trying to stick these fish onto someone without them knowing 🐟🐠!</p> <p class="ql-block">Last but least, the students have been working very hard on their jolly phonics! As the blending of letter sounds get more challenging, the students accomplishments become even greater!
