Because the coastal line is round, it looks like a big Shauki, hence the name. In the mid-18th century, fishermen found that Shau Kei Bay was first-class, so they began to moor fishing boats here, which gradually became the largest fishing village on the north coast of Hong Kong Island. Until the middle of the last century, the government began to carry out large-scale demolition of squatter areas and reclamation in Shau Kei Wan. Gradually, residential and modern facilities replaced the original appearance of Shau Kei Wan, slowly shaping today's Shau Kei Wan.</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">At present, the Typhoon Shelter Wharf in Shau Kei Wan has routes to and from Donglong Island, and many yachts and fishing boats are moored in the Typhoon Shelter.</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">對面的九龍東及飛鵝山</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">Opposite Kowloon East and Kowloon peak</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">對面的油塘</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">The Yau Tong opposite</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">鯉魚門海峽</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">Lei Yue Mun strait</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">避風塘內水流少而缺氧,野生魚群浮出水面吸氧</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">There is little water flow in the typhoon shelter and lack of oxygen, and wild fish surfaced to absorb oxygen.</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">避風塘岸上的小公園</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">A small park on the shore of a typhoon shelter</span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">西眺避風塘</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">Looking at the typhoon shelter in the west</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">東眺避風塘</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">Looking at the typhoon shelter in the east</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">傍晚的岸邊</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">The shore in the evening</span></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;"><span class="ql-cursor"></span></span></p> <p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">每年佛誕節,無論是佛教還是道教和各種華人廟宇,與民間傳統武術社團,都會在這一天舉行慶祝活動。筲箕灣主要是譚公,天后和城隍廟,和本地漁民組織的集會遊行。</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">偶爾,大年的端午節,避風塘也會舉辦龍舟賽。</span></p><p class="ql-block"><span style="font-size: 22px;">Every year, Buddha's birthday, whether in Buddhism or Taoism or various Chinese temples, as well as folk traditional martial arts clubs, will be celebrated on this day.
