The students also shared these during circle time, comparing similarities and differences between each other’s communities 🏡😊!</p> <p class="ql-block">During inquiry time students were given a local research map, in which they had to draw the different services/shops which are in their local area! ✏️🏪💈🛍️</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 22px;"><i><u>Needs and wants: 🍎📱</u></i></b></p><p class="ql-block">We have also explored the concept of needs and wants for humans. </p><p class="ql-block">Humans need certain amenities to survive, and there are things we want but do not need to live. </p><p class="ql-block">We started off with introducing this idea, and then debating on different aspects which we may need or want.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> For example: water is a need, without it humans cannot survive for long. Toys are a want, we can’t survive without it! </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">With time, students will connect this with systems and why they are important in our community. </p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b><i>Take a look… </i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b><i></i></b></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p> <p class="ql-block">K2B then had a task of colouring pictures in red if it was a need, and colouring pictures in blue if it was a want. </p><p class="ql-block">It was great to see and confirm their understandings or confusions! </p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 22px;"><i><u>Book sharing 📚</u></i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Thank you to Jia Yang, Michael and Shirley for sharing their favourite English books in the last few weeks! </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">It has been inspiring and confidence building for the students to see each other read English stories to the class! 💪🏼.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">The students have loved hearing about the adventures if Biff, Chip and Kipper, and Fly guy! 😎</p> <p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><b style="font-size: 22px;"><i><u>🔤 Jolly phonics 🔤</u></i></b></p><p class="ql-block" style="text-align: center;"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Jolly phonics has been an exciting and fun experience so far for students of K2B!
