Epigraph of a Humble Abode

子曰

The mountain's greatness lies not in its height, but in the presence of immortals that bring it renown. The depth of the water matters less than the presence of a dragon that imbues it with spirit. This humble dwelling, though simple in appearance, becomes inconspicuous in light of my virtuous character. The moss, vibrant in its emerald hue, creeps up to the terrace, while the verdant grass outside casts its hues through the window curtains.

Here, conversations are graced by erudite minds, and those who pass through are not shallow in knowledge. The sound of a plain, unadorned musical instrument can be heard, and Buddhist scriptures can be perused. No jarring notes of stringed instruments disrupt the ears, and no official documents from the government burden the body.

In Nanyang, there is Zhuge Liang's thatched hut, and in the Western Shu, Yangzi Yun's pavilion. As Confucius said, what simplicity is there?"
