守中阁

通行本(简)：

不出户，知天下；不窥牖，见天道。其出弥远，其知弥少。是以圣人不行而知，不见而明，不为而成。

通行本(繁)：

不出户，知天下；不窥牖，見天道。其出彌遠，其知彌少。是以聖人不行而知，不見而明，不為而成。

白话文解释：

不出门，知天下。

不窥窗，见天道。

走得越远，知道越少。

因此，

圣人不行而知，不见而明，不为而成。

英文翻译：

Knowing

Without taking a step outdoors

You know the whole world;

Without taking a peep out the window

You know the colour of the sky.

The more you experience,

The less you know.

The sage wanders without knowing,

Sees without looking,

Accomplishes without acting.

马王堆帛书本(繁)：

不出於户，以知天下。不規（窥，乙本作“現”）於牖（you3），以知天道。

其出也弹（彌）遠（乙本作“其出彌遠者”），其知彈（彌）少。

是以聖人不行而知，不見而明（乙本作名），弗為而成。
