《2022李政道科学与艺术作品大赛》

<p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">我是一位喜欢画油画的奶奶,今年6月朋友发来2022年第九届上海交通大学李政道科学与艺术作品大奖赛(以下简称科艺大奖赛)的消息,建议我参赛。</p> <p class="ql-block">这次大赛的主题为:Metamaterials,超材料。要求作品紧扣科学主题,并以适当的艺术形式(中国画,油画,雕塑,动画,数码摄影,创意视频等)进行呈现和演绎。</p> <p class="ql-block">怎么用油画来呈现超材料呢?在创作时,长期从事移动通信技术、信息技术工作,喜欢画油画的我,面对超材料是一头雾水,不知从何下笔。苦思冥想了很久,我想首先要搞清楚什么是超材料。李政道图书馆给出了解释。</p> <p class="ql-block">我又上网查了相关资料,归纳为:超材料指的是一类具有特殊性质的人造材料,这些材料是自然界没有的;它与常规材料不同,具有天然材料所不具备的,超常物理性质的,人工复合结构或复合材料。人工结构包括单元结构(人工原子和人工分子)和单元结构集合而成的复合结构两个层次。</p> <p class="ql-block">如何用油画的手法来表达呢?我想超材料虽然是非自然物质,但很多超材料都是从世间万物的原理中得到启示而制作出来的。于是我创作了油画《结构》。</p> <p class="ql-block">按主办方要求,附文字说明(中英文):我创作油画《结构》的灵感,源于我在孩童时常常陶醉于蜻蜓翅膀的美丽结构。雨后清晨的蜻蜓翅膀带着露珠,在太阳光下发散出五颜六色的光芒。有时碰到蚂蚁搬运蜻蜓的残肢回蚁巢,我会驻足良久聚精会神的观看。这幅油画构出了我的童年记忆!</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">巨型蜻蜓曾经是生活在远古恐龙时代之前的史前生物,就像一个童话。今天蜻蜓翅膀纹路的力学结构,是大自然用三亿多年时间进化的结果。蜻蜓用最节省材料的方法建造了最轻薄最结实的羽翼,帮助她用最经济、最有效的方式飞翔。蜻蜓能做各种高难度、高机动性飞行动作,她的翅膀提供了比同样面积飞机翅膀高出10倍以上的升力。科学家通过对她的仿生学研究,得出大量数据和创新灵感,用于人造飞行器和其它空气动力学材料和设备的制造。大自然的鬼斧神工是多么的神奇啊。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">我用蚂蚁搬运蜻蜓翅膀的方式来展示画面,为的是突出蜻蜓翅膀的美丽纹路和结构。蚂蚁们合力高举蜻蜓翅膀,奋力合作跨越鸿沟,像在举行一种庄严的献祭仪式。蜻蜓翅膀占据了画面的主要部分和画面的焦点,五个蚂蚁的奋力合作达成了画面的动静平衡,遥远的地平线虚化成了背景用以突出聚焦一线的蚂蚁和蜻蜓翅膀。左中偏上的黄色和红色代表了我对未来的期冀、憧憬和祝福!</p> <p class="ql-block">The inspiration of the oil painting “Structure” came from my childhood memories of the fascinating wing structures of a dragonfly. After a fresh nightly rainfall, dewdrops would form on the back of a dragonfly’s wing, emitting colorful lights in all directions under the morning sun. Occasionally I ran into busy ants carrying body parts of a fallen dragonfly back to their nests, and I would halt my steps and marvel at their great feat along the way. This painting portrays those fond memories of my childhood.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">Like a fairytale, giant dragonflies were a prehistoric being that lived before the times of the ancient dinosaurs. The mechanics embodied in the wing structure and textures of modern day dragonflies are the results of over three hundred million years of evolution by Nature. Dragonflies use the least amount of materials and build the thinnest and yet strongest wings to support their most economical and efficient ways of flying. They are capable of various highly difficult and flexible maneuvers. Given the same surface area, a dragonfly wing can produce more than 10 times the lift power than that of an airplane. Based on the large amount of scientific data and innovative inspirations obtained through their bionics research, scientists are able to produce various flying crafts, and other aerodynamic materials and equipment. One cannot help but marvel at the magic of Nature!</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">By using the image of a group of ants carrying a dragonfly wing, I am attempting to showcase the beautiful structure and textures of the wing. The ants seem to be performing a solemn sacrificial ceremony; they coordinate as a team and raise the wing high while trying to conquer the huge gap by group efforts. The dragonfly wing occupies the main portion and hence becomes the focal point of the painting. The group efforts between the five ants demonstrate the dynamic and static balance of the picture. The fading horizon far away is used as the background to highlight both the dragonfly wing and the uniform efforts of the ants. The yellow and red color in the upper left area embodies my expectation, yearning and best wishes for the future.</p> <p class="ql-block">投稿时,因一人可以投两幅作品,我将年初画的一幅油画,起名《网》及诗人湖畔烟树专门为画配的诗一并提交。</p> <p class="ql-block">注:诗人湖畔烟树为此画特别创作,原创。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">《渔舟唱晚》</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 梦泽张帆扶一舵,秋风万里洞庭波。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 鸾飞鱼跃溅青笠,雨过潮来湿绿蓑。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 涵碧山根沙岸接,涌金湖面夕阳多。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 渔家乐甚收渔网,投暮还归唱棹歌。</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">壬寅虎年 六月初一</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">梦泽:即云梦泽 。唐李白 《<大猎赋>序》:“楚国不过千里, 梦泽居其大半。” </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">鸢飞鱼跃:《诗‧大雅‧旱麓》:“鸢飞戾天,鱼跃于渊。”孔颖达疏:“其上则鸢鸟得飞至于天以游翔,其下则鱼皆跳跃于渊中而喜乐,是道被飞潜,万物得所,化之明察故也。”后以“鸢飞鱼跃”谓万物各得其所。 </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">投暮:傍晚。《汉书‧游侠传‧原涉》:“投暮,入其里宅。” </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">还归:返回。应劭《风俗通‧怪神》引《管子》:“齐公出于泽,见衣紫衣,大如毂,长如辕,拱手而立。还归,寝疾,数月不出。” </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">棹歌:亦作“櫂歌”。行船时所唱之歌。汉武帝《秋风辞》:“箫鼓鸣兮发棹歌,欢乐极兮哀情多。” </p> <p class="ql-block">愿将这幅名为“网”的油画,作为“超材料”家族的一员,奉献给那些在科学园地里不停耕耘的探索家们。</p><p class="ql-block">I wish to dedicate this oil painting named “Net”, which is a member of the “Metamaterials” family, to those explorers who never stopped cultivating in the fields of science.</p><p class="ql-block"> </p><p class="ql-block">注:诗人湖畔烟树为此画特别创作,原创。</p><p class="ql-block">Poem specially dedicated to this painting by poet 湖畔烟树. Original.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">《渔舟唱晚》 “Fisherman's Song at Eventide”</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 梦泽张帆扶一舵,秋风万里洞庭波。</p><p class="ql-block">Setting sail and hand on the rudder in the MengZe Lake,</p><p class="ql-block">Miles of DongTing waves ruffled by the autumn breeze, </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 鸾飞鱼跃溅青笠,雨过潮来湿绿蓑。</p><p class="ql-block">Water splash from diving Kites and jumping fish drips on bamboo hats,</p><p class="ql-block">Moisture from passing rain shower wet the green coir raincoats,</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 涵碧山根沙岸接,涌金湖面夕阳多。</p><p class="ql-block">Stretches of sand beaches extended by shadows of hills and trees,</p><p class="ql-block">Abundance of setting sun casts floods of golden rays on the lake,</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"> 渔家乐甚收渔网,投暮还归唱棹歌。</p><p class="ql-block">The fishermen happily retrieving their nets and retiring for the day,</p><p class="ql-block">On their way home in the evening accompanied by their fisherman’s songs.</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">壬寅虎年 六月初一 (2022年六月29日)</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">梦泽:即云梦泽 。唐李白 《<大猎赋>序》:“楚国不过千里, 梦泽居其大半。” (Biggest lake in ancient China, now only small scattered portions of it left, such as Hong Hu lake)</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">鸢飞鱼跃:《诗‧大雅‧旱麓》:“鸢飞戾天,鱼跃于渊。”孔颖达疏:“其上则鸢鸟得飞至于天以游翔,其下则鱼皆跳跃于渊中而喜乐,是道被飞潜,万物得所,化之明察故也。”后以“鸢飞鱼跃”谓万物各得其所。 (Kite flying and fish jumping—implying all things enjoy its freedom and well-being.)</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">投暮:傍晚。《汉书‧游侠传‧原涉》:“投暮,入其里宅。” (Evening, dusk). </p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">还归:返回。应劭《风俗通‧怪神》引《管子》:“齐公出于泽,见衣紫衣,大如毂,长如辕,拱手而立。还归,寝疾,数月不出。” (Return).</p><p class="ql-block"><br></p><p class="ql-block">棹歌:亦作“櫂歌”。行船时所唱之歌。汉武帝《秋风辞》:“箫鼓鸣兮发棹歌,欢乐极兮哀情多。” (Sailing songs, fisherman’s songs).</p> <p class="ql-block">这次“科艺大奖赛”有来自中俄两国有效报名作品109件,78件作品进入复评环节。经过来自科学艺术领域10位专家的两轮评审,最终产生一等奖作品3件,二等奖作品8件,三等奖作品16件,优秀奖作品24件,入围奖作品27件。出乎意料,我的油画作品《网》获得了入围奖。</p> <p class="ql-block">通过“科艺大奖赛”,我学到了很多东西,受益匪浅。</p> <p class="ql-block">诺贝尔奖获得者李政道先生一直倡导科学与艺术交融,并于2013年捐资建立“上海交通大学李政道科学与艺术讲座基金”。以科学题材为主题,自2014年起,已成功举办了9届专题研讨会及艺术品大奖赛。</p> <p class="ql-block">李政道先生每年都会手绘贺年卡给朋友们,体现了科学家与艺术的情怀与造诣。</p> <p class="ql-block">李政道先生曾经说过,科学和艺术是不可分的,两者都在寻求真理的普遍性。普遍性一定植根于自然,而对自然的探索则是人类创造性的最崇高的表现。事实上如一个硬币的两面,科学和艺术源于人类活动最高尚的部分,都追求着深刻性、普遍性、永恒和富有意义。</p> <p class="ql-block">回顾2022年,当艺术遇到超材料,必定是我难忘的一年!</p>
