那么，你知道，每只鸟将她的自我意识

投射在自身前方，逆流而上 ——

一道心灵的闪念不带沉坠 ——

然后追着目标飞翔。

好像现实真能拉近理想。

而天青蓝翠鸟的感知也是如此 —— 

深色的电流，丰满端庄的意念 —— 

在秋天最后一个温暖的周日，

先鸟儿几秒钟

触动岸边的你；

所以，当她以光速飞过，

她的名字 已是你舌尖亮蓝的短语，

已是第二个自我未释怀的节律。

So, you see, each bird throws the idea 

of herself

ahead of herself, up the river —

A line of spiritual thought 

without a sinker  —

And flies after it. As if the actual could 

ever hope to reel the ideal in. 

But so it is

That awareness of the Azure Kingfisher  —

 a dark electricity, a plump

Trim elegance of intent  — 

reaches you on the riverbank 

 that last warm Sunday of the fall,

 split seconds.Before the bird; 

so what when she passes you at light speed, 

her name is already a bright blue phrase 

on your tongue, 

is already the unresolved cadence of 

your second self.
