Well this month we’ll explore the three states of matter, liquid, solid and gas.Now today we are going to make a super cool parachute.

For this experiment, you’ll need a parachute.
A plastic container.一个塑料容器。
An earth kite.一个地面风筝。
Paint.颜料
A paintbrush.一根笔刷。
A bottle cap.一个瓶盖
A piece of black paper. 一张黑纸

Now you can see our parachute here is very, very white.OK. We want to make this parachute more beautiful.
现在你们可以看到我们这儿的降落伞非常非常的白。好的，我们想让这个降落伞变得更漂亮。

So first thing we can do is we lay it out nice and flat like this, okay.And then we have our paint.
那么首先我们要做的是将它好好的铺开，像这样铺开，好的。然后我们用颜料

So you can see here I put a piece of paper down.this is just to make sure I don’t get any paint on the table or anywhere else.OK. We want to make sure everything stays clean.

And we also have our brush.

And now we can find any things of different shapes in our house,for example,a little cap,maybe this is from some toothpaste or something.And you can see it’s a circle.
You can find other things in your home to put onto your parachute.

So you can find some things in your house, kids.

So I’ll show you here. I think the first color I will use is green.So we just open up the green then we put it on the paper.
所以我们只要打开绿色，然后我们将它放在纸上。

Then you take your little circle cap.And you can just brush some green on there.And then we’re just gonna make a circle right on the parachute.And you can make your parachute anywhere you want, right？

So I’m just gonna make little green dots or you can make lines.you can color everything whatever you want to do

OK, now, make sure you have some water so you can clean your brush cause you don’t want to get green paint in another color.

And you can also have some wet wipes.You can wash off your little cap around like this.

So you can use circles or triangles, anything you want

now you can see we have finished our beautiful parachute.You can see the colored circles are all over there.And you have to make sure that after you paint it, you let the paint dry.

OK, so that when you touch it,See I can touch it and there is no paint on my hand.

And now,look at this.This is our little earth kite.OK I‘m just gonna open that up to show you.

Can you figure it out?

Wow.you make it.Good thinking.Can it fly?
Then we have a long string here.

So you can play with that.And just pull it.You pull that, and it just flies in the sky.
Now I think we can play together.So you can take your earth kite.and I can take my parachute.
You can throw your parachute up in the air, and watch it rise up into the air and then it will drop down nice and slow.And you should catch it before it can land on the ground.OK. So you can throw this as high as you want.
你可以将你的降落伞抛向空中,看着它在空中升起来, 然后慢慢的落下。你应该在它落到地上之前抓住它。好的，那么你可以想扔多高就多高。

Why does a parachute work?
为什么降落伞会这样？

When the parachute opens,it will fill up with air and become very big and wide.
当降落伞打开后, 它会充满空气，变得很大很宽。

It then creates drag which slows us down.Without drag we’ll fall very fast.
然后它就会产生阻力，让我们能够缓缓下降。没有阻力的话，我们就会快速地落下去。

The bigger the parachute, the slower we’ll fall.because the drag is increased.
降落伞越大，我们就落的越慢.因为阻力增加了。
