潭门的故事 The story of Tanmen

　　在海南省琼海市有一条合水溪，它自西而东流经琼海大地而奔向南海。该溪流出海口处有一泓深潭，加上古代渔民习惯把通行船只的水道叫做‘门’，所以，人们便把该溪流出海口近旁的地方叫作‘潭门’。

There is a river running from the west to east of Qionghai in Hainan Province. There is a deep pool at the mouth where the stream flows to the sea. In addition, ancient fishermen used to call the waterway through which ships pass "the gate". Therefore, people called the place near the mouth of the stream as the "pond gate". （Chinese “潭门” ）

千年渔港出入无以计数的渔船，从这个长长的水道驰向大海，捕鱼归来又从这里驰回渔港，简陋的珊瑚石筑起的防护堤为渔船挡住了海浪。

Thousands and thousands fishing boats into and out of the Millennium fishing port galloped to the sea from this long waterway. After fishing, they galloped back to the fishing port from here. The protective dams built of simple coral stones blocked the waves for the fishing boats.

潭門出海口，兩個一長一短的護浪大壩擋住了大海的巨浪，讓遠航的漁船順利馳進漁港。人們稱這兩個護浪堤為夫妻堤。

At the entrance to the sea, two long and short wave protection dams blocked the huge waves of the sea, allowing long-distance fishing boats to rush into the fishing port smoothly. People call them as “the husband and wife dams.”

大坝两边爬满了螃蟹，附近的海滩可以挖出贝壳和珊瑚化石

Crabs are crawling on both sides of the dam, and nearby beaches can dig out shells and coral fossils.

更路簿故事馆记载了他们远征南海、至今仍然在西沙、中沙、东沙、南沙这四沙作业的远航渔船还有74艘，渔民2800人。

南海5月1日起进入伏季休渔期，潭门700多艘渔船进港休渔，6000多远近海捕鱼的渔民归家补网修正，场面壮观。

The South China Sea has entered the summer fishing moratorium since May 1. every year. More than 700 fishing boats in Tanmen have been suspended from fishing in The South China Sea and 6000 offshore fishermen have returned home to repair their nets. The scene is spectacular。

在潭门镇，目光所及，都是大海的元素。古朴建筑与港口停泊的渔船构成了一道亮丽风景线。船木色的路灯杆，就像一根根桅杆，在瞭望着大海；船舵、救生圈、船桨、铁锚、贝壳、龙虾、水鸟……老渡口、望夫台等古迹依然保持着原汁原味。

In Tamen Town, all you can see are elements of the sea. Ancient buildings and fishing boats moored in the port constitute a beautiful scenery. The wooden lamppost of the boat is looking out at the sea; Rudder, life buoy, oar, iron anchor, shell, lobster, waterfowl，the old ferry, watchtower and other historic sites remain original.

潭门中心渔港作为国家一级渔港,当地渔业产值7亿多元,占全镇年产值的四分之一。

As a national first-class fishing port, Tanmen central fishing port has a local fishery output value of more than 700 million yuan in one year accounting for a quarter of the annual output value of the whole town.

在潭门镇的海边，有一片绵延3公里，平整、宽阔的大礁盘，最远处距离岸边有1公里远。每月农历初一、十五前后，下午四五点钟，海水大退潮，礁盘半露水面，最深处刚刚及膝，这是潭门民众最开心的赶海时刻，他们只需卷起裤腿就能到礁盘里捡公螺与蛤蜊等海产品，赚钱养家致富。

At the seaside of Tamen Town, there is a large flat and wide reef stretching for 3 kilometers. The farthest distance is 1 km from the shore. Around the first and fifteenth days of the lunar calendar every month, at four or five o'clock in the afternoon, the sea water ebbed, and the reef plate was half exposed. The deepest point was just knee high. This was the happiest time for the Tanmen people to rush to the sea. They just had to roll up their trouser legs to pick up male snails, clams and other seafood in the reef plate to make money to support their families and become rich.

2022年6月1日农历五月初三，大潮退去，我也去赶海了，天边的火烧云很好看。

到了深夜依然有上百人带着灯具在漏出海面的浅滩上刨呀挖呀捡蛤蜊和海螺，夜幕下的灯光点点疑似银河落九天。

Late at night, hundreds of people still carry lamps and lanterns to dig and pick up clams and conches on the shoals leaking out of the sea. The light under the night is like“The Suspected Galaxy falling for nine days”.

潭门蕴藏着深厚的海洋文化，是非物质文化遗产“南海航道更路簿”、“祭兄弟公出海仪式”和“鲤鱼灯”等海洋文化的发祥地。每年8月，潭门都会举办赶海节，渔民们开捕祭海，。很多游客都会慕名前来感受传承千年的南海渔耕文化，体验赶海拾贝、织网捕鱼，品尝当地特色美食和海鲜大餐。

Tanmen contains profound marine culture. It is the birthplace of marine culture such as intangible cultural heritage "South China Sea changing roads books.” “sacrificing 108 brothers " and "carp lantern". 潭门自古就有祭海民俗，八月休渔结束，出海前开捕祭海、吹螺祈福、鲤鱼祭108兄弟公、舞龙舞狮、舞鱼灯，这种祭海活动自明朝沿袭至今，已有六百多年的历史。

Tanmen has a custom of offering sacrifices to the sea since ancient times. The fishing moratorium ends in August. Before going to sea, fishing and offering sacrifices to the sea, blowing snails and praying for blessings, carp sacrificing 108 brothers, dancing dragons and lions, and dancing fish lanterns. This kind of sacrifice to the sea has a history of more than 600 years since the Ming Dynasty.

这是渔民们与他们赖以生存的大海之间的一种尊重，亦是一种默契。人和自然之间，就该是这样互相给予又互相依赖着的，古旧的牌坊述说着去赶海的故事。

潭门夕阳有晚霞的瑰丽，还有芦苇的风光。《诗经》赞曰：蒹葭苍苍，白露为霜。所谓伊人，在水一方。

Tanmen has the beauty of sunset and the scenery of reeds. The book of songs praises that the reeds are green and the dew is frost. The so-called beauty are on the water side.
