I’m Ziqiao Wu, from Class One, Grade Six.

I was in Grade Four When I read the book for the first time, and it caught my eyes immediately as I saw the cover of the book. How could a boy ride a goose and fly freely in the sky? It took me a few days to finish reading the book and it made me impressed.

I read The Wonderful Adventures of Niles for the second time because of our project-based learning. I began to think about the meaning of these adventure stories of Niles’. How could a boy grow up? He is not naughty and cold any more, but to be brave and responsible.

For the third time……Yes, that’s right! I have read this book for three times. Each character gives me different feelings. The story of Gorgo’s makes me moved and impressed. Actually, it leads me to think about some problems as we are growing up.

Little eagle Gorgo lost his parents at a young age, but the wild goose Akka saved him. Akka taught him to fly and live by himself like a mother. At the same time, Akka taught him to think like a wild goose, not an eagle.

One day, Gorgo found the truth, then he flew high in the sky and left Akka. Gorgo chased his freedom as an eagle.

However, life was not always perfect! Some days later, Gorgo was captured by the hunter. He was frustrated and missed Akka very much. Fortunately, he was saved by Niles and got together with Akka at last.

I was shocked when Gorgo struggled to free himself but returned because of love. We students meet such problems, either.

So I want to ask you the questions: Have you ever thought about freedom? Have you ever struggled to free yourselves from the control of your parents or teachers? Friends you want to make, clothes you prefer to wear, stars you would like to chase…… They will say, No way! Don’t do that! Put down the phone! Do more exercise besides homework…… Oh, mum, please give me some space, just a little bit, I have grown up! Don’t take away my phone when I am watching Tik Tok(抖音)! (Sad)

(Sad)

What will life be like if we have freedom, absolutely? Will you stay up to play with your phone? Will you do anything desired in your mind? It seems to be crazy and terrible. Why? Because it will be a disaster if freedom lose border.

Freedom doesn’t mean to connive. You can enjoy your freedom only when you have a strong heart and have set up rules in your mind. Just like Gorgo, he came back because he understood the importance of families. He didn’t lose freedom as he knew what to do. He had a stronger heart.

In this way, how could we pupils solve the problem and tell the difference between freedom and connivance? Firstly, try to communicate with your parents and make sure the ideas for each other. Secondly, make rules in your heart, never break them easily. Thirdly, set a goal, and try to achieve it by actions.

To be frank, I have freedom at home in some way. I have had my own phone since I was five years old. My mother told me that it was only a tool of connection or study. I always share nice bloggers with my mum, even discuss videos. I hardly study in outside school for I can plan my study by myself. I enjoy discussing, even debating issues which are concerned to history, society and so on with my mother. She aways gives me different ideas about things. I think we trust each other!

I hope each of you can make rules in your heart and to be free truly when you grow up!

That’s all! Thank you!
