And we will listen to their New Year's wishes .</p><p class="ql-block">壬寅虎年已经来临，我们在喜迎新的一年的到来时，当然不能忘了旧传统，我们一起听听高新国际学校的孩子们，为我们细数中国新年的风俗，也来听听他们的新年愿望。</p> <p class="ql-block">一、话除夕风俗</p> <p class="ql-block">The New Year's Eve</p><p class="ql-block">The Spring Festival is the New Year in China, just as Christmas in Britain. Chinese people attach much important to the Spring Festival , which is Chinese traditional festival. And the New Year’s Eve is the most important day in the spring Festival.</p><p class="ql-block">The New Year's Eve is the last night in the last month of lunar calendar next to the Spring Festival Day, the first day of new year . Chuxi, the Chinese name of Spring Festival 's Eve, means the old year past and we'll greet the new by the turn of year. During all Festival , the activities or celebrations focus on praying for Good Fortunes and getting rid of Bad Fortunes.There are many customs on New Year's Eve , which mainly include pasting Spring Festival couplets, having the New Year’s Eve dinner, staying up late at night , sacrifice offering and setting off fireworks. The most anticipated thing is to watch the Spring Festival Gala. The Spring Festival Gala is a variety show held every New Year's Eve to celebrate the lunar New Year. It is often hailed as a cultural feast for Chinese people on New Year's Eve.</p><p class="ql-block">春节是中国的新年，就像圣诞节在英国一样。春节是中国的传统节日，中国人很重视春节。除夕是春节中最重要的一天。除夕是农历最后一个月的最后一夜，紧挨着春节，也就是新年的第一天。“除夕”的中文名字意味着过去的一年即将结束，我们将在新年来临之际迎接新年的到来。在所有节日期间，活动或庆祝集中于祈求好运和去除厄运。除夕夜的习俗很多，主要有贴春联、吃年夜饭、熬夜、祭祀、放烟花等。最期待的就是看春晚。春节联欢晚会是每年除夕举行的庆祝农历新年的综艺节目。通常被誉为中国人在除夕的文化盛宴。</p> <p class="ql-block">二、话“年兽”</p> <p class="ql-block">Hello ，everyone, my name is Ma Yilin and I'm from Gaoxin International school. </p><p class="ql-block">As we know, setting off firecrackers is one of the most popular customs among the kids in the Spring Festival celebration. Do you know why? </p><p class="ql-block">Firstly, I want to share a folk talk with all of you. Long long ago, there was a beast called “Nian”, it was very fierce and cruel , it appeared in deep forest from time to time. It liked eating people, so people in ancient China were very scared. In order to scare away the beast and evil spirits, they used the sound of burning bamboo tubes. Secondly, firecracker, also called “bianpao” is used to develop a joyful atmosphere. However, setting off firecrackers is completely or partially forbidden in big cities including Beijing due to fire, injury and pollution caused by it. Personally , it doesn't matter whether we can set off firecrackers or not, instead, we can find other ways to share our happiness. Tomorrow is the Spring Festival.So,what do we do that day before the Spring Festival?Now,let me tell you.</p><p class="ql-block">In the North of China，we make dumplings to prepare for a Spring Festival，this is the main food that day. People all over the world go home and the get together with their families. They will have a big dinner that day ，then they will sit in the same room and chat with each other. They also stay up all night to watch “Chunwan”until the new year comes. What an exciting thing it is! What a happy thing it is! It is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar year.</p><p class="ql-block">Lantern Festival is one of the biggest holidays in China. Several days before Lantern Festival, people begin to make lanterns. Lanterns are made in the shape of different animals, vegetables, fruits and many, other things. While making lanterns people usually write riddles on lanterns. On the eve of Lantern Festival, all the lanterns are hung up.</p><p class="ql-block">On Lantern Festival people go outside to have a look at the lanterns and guess the riddles on the lanterns. Perhaps you call see some wonderful folk performances,Dragon Dance and Yangko. Everything is very interesting and everyone is very happy. Our life is rich and colourful.</p><p class="ql-block">元宵节是中国的传统节日。在农历的第一个月的第十五天庆祝。元宵节是中国最大的节日之一。元宵节前几天，人们开始制作灯笼。灯笼制作成不同的动物、蔬菜、水果和很多其他东西的形状。制作灯笼时，人们通常会在灯笼上写下谜语。在元宵节前夕，所有的灯笼都挂起来。在元宵节当天，人们到外面看灯笼，猜灯谜。也许你也会看到一些精彩的民间表演，舞龙和秧歌。一切都很有趣，每个人都很开心。总的来说，我们的生活很丰富多彩。</p> <p class="ql-block">七、话愿望——2022年新打算</p> <p class="ql-block">The new year is coming!Now,it's the time to make plans for the new year.Here is what I will do:</p><p class="ql-block">1.1 will get better grades.I'm good at English and Chinese,but I need to improve in my Math.I'll study better!</p><p class="ql-block">2.I will give up my bad habits.I often get up very very late.To get early is good for my health.
