橘生淮北为枳之辨<br>文/心若琉璃<br>幼闻《晏子使楚》之“橘生淮北则为枳”说，以为的然，服膺晏子之论。及长偶观楼下之橘树，方识晏子之所言为非。若不匡正之，后世之人恐据为确论，因循此说，贻误匪浅也。<br><br>“江南有丹橘，经冬犹绿林”，固千古不易之论也。吾生于南阳，淯水之北，独山之南。地去淮河二百余里，偶见小区院中一橘树亭亭如伞盖，高丈余，其巅有橘数枚，其大盈握，高挂枝头。遂疑晏子“橘生淮北为枳”之说。考之典籍，枳为橘之近宗，名枸橘。其叶实俱小，果酸涩，可入药，其株多棘刺，密植可为篱墙。本是异种，曷可相淆。又闻今之山东河北之区亦植柑橘，山东本齐鲁旧域，其地去淮水不啻千里，岂植于淮北则为枳也？晏子博观群书，据《周礼》“橘逾淮而北为枳，……此地气然也”之说，而不详覈之，致有如是之谬也。<br><br>盖战国之时，晏子使楚。楚王欲辱之。晏子以橘生淮北为枳以驳齐人入楚为盗之谬。楚王生于南国，长于富贵。华堂岑楼，粉垣雕墙之内何见绳枢瓮牖之家以枳为墙哉！内怀诈伪欺凌之虚，外闻晏子奇谈骇世之说，不遑辩其非是而靡风也。其“橘生淮北为枳”之说者乃晏子之道听途说之论耳！晏子诚博学善辩之士也，其言可法，其德逼圣，然因循旧说而未稽赅，致后来之士执此为不易之论。为学者出语造论，不可不慎，亦不可因袭前说以盲引盲也。 再掘癞蛤蟆草记<br>文/心若琉璃<br>癞蛤蟆草味苦，然食之有消滞平喘怯咳之用，虑益儿辈甚夥，遂又掘焉。<br><br>乘闲东徂，游步园中。兰已半萎，菊色黮黄。月季无蕊，松叶满径。寂少人迹，偶闻鸟声。寒气侵肤，日晖含情。苑草萋萋，经霜犹青。缓行塍垅，寻之觅之。小者忽之弗取，硕者纳之篚中。近水之处茁茂，丘阜之上衰零。忽睹数十株蔚蔚于沟浍之侧，遂喜而尽掘之。回视林下垝垣之处，隐而不彰者，其株细微如钱，其叶劣小如毳者悉不罹断柢之灾。<br><br>呜乎！老氏有言：物壮则老，老而不道，不道早已。凡物微时，人多轻忽，不置于臆，及其既壮，众俱瞩目。若花之未发，木之未盛，无顾之者，独处僻野之中，寂寞于风雪之时，门可罗雀。及其大盛，馥香远播，抗风斗雪，名为时重，则不免于采撷伐斫之患焉。<br><br>遥想畴昔，汉之霍光，荣膺托孤之任，骤然腾贵，满门列侯，名动天下，忽然诛灭，靡有孑遗。韩信微时，乞食漂母，萧何数荐，遂统三军。灭项垓下，翦除群雄。功既震主，殒命未央。而张良范蠡，察见鸟尽之几，亟赴白鸥之盟。保其元首，功垂后世。盖炎炎者绝，事之固然；赫赫者灭，势之必至。物盛而衰，道之情也；功成身退，天地之理。人之处世，迍蹇之时，自知卑敛，隆昌之际，岂知谦退。必也登峰而造极，穷其欲而及乎危殆。若明乎盈虚之变，达乎壮老之道，惧亢极而悔生，因自损以保泰，斯可远害保身，翼其苗裔矣。此吾掘癞蛤蟆草之得也，故为之记。
