class="ql-block"> </p><p class="ql-block"> The pure blue light cast by snow </p><p class="ql-block"> flits across my manu </p><p class="ql-block"> I catch sight of the snow hurled aside by the wind</p><p class="ql-block"> and in its wake, a shelter built from snow, a forest</p><p class="ql-block"> a white horse, a few trees and birds </p><p class="ql-block"> complete the fiction of late autumn</p><p class="ql-block"> </p><p class="ql-block"> In this moment, the birds regard the earth’s solitude</p><p class="ql-block"> The abundant store of goods beneath the snow are back where they belong</p><p class="ql-block"> Only a fresh wind bearing the face of destiny</p><p class="ql-block"> suddenly reveals those embryonic yearnings</p><p class="ql-block"> Signs of welcome relief to those piece of clear snow to hold on to its drifting spirit</p><p class="ql-block"> I listen to the work chants over the Tongken River</p><p class="ql-block"> that attest to a prosperous landscape, eternally keeping watch</p><p class="ql-block"> </p><p class="ql-block"> At this time, my life is engaged in resisting snow</p><p class="ql-block"> like the thousand year frozen fate of an old well </p><p class="ql-block"> Paint my sleeping eyes and face white and still</p><p class="ql-block"> leaving a pillow of pure rhyme and flowing love</p><p class="ql-block"> silently open yesterday’s
