　　回访，医学上叫随访，是指病人出院后，再进一步了解病情恢复情况的一个过程，是疾病全程化服务的一个环节。 作为医生，往往不予以重视，光忙活新病人还忙不过来了，尤其是大医院的医生，哪有时间再去主动联系过往的病人。除非那些在科研上重视的名教授，为了科学研究会通过信访来了解病情。

A return visit, also known as a follow-up visit in clinical terminology, is a process that helps doctors better understand a patient's recovery after they've been discharged from the hospital. It's also a part of the overall disease management service. Doctors often ignore it because they are too preoccupied with new patients, especially in large hospitals, to contact previous patients. Except for famous professors who value scientific research and will learn about the disease via letter for the sake of scientific research.

我做了近二十年的科主任，曾要求过科里每个专业组都建立起正规的随访制度。有些专业做得好一些，有些则像断了线的风筝，风筝在哪儿，找不着了。就是找着了，也是缺这缺那，支离破碎，最终却成了无效的一堆废纸。

那么，回访有哪些好处呢？

首先大数据显示，疾病的治疗是一个从预防到康复的全过程。对外科而言，手术只是其中的一个环节。而随访，是关心其他环节的落实。如果病人出院后得不到医院的随访，不但不利于患者出院后病情的监控，有时甚至会延误病情。

做为在大学附属医院工作一辈子的我，深知病人随访的重要性。每年要培养那么多研究生，包括硕士、博士、博士后，他们的研究资料都离不开随访。
晚年来到青岛滨海学院附属医院工作，没想到院长那么重视临床随访工作，别忘了，院长不是专业学医的，但却是那么的专业，这不得不令我打心里敬佩。

记得，早年我母亲去省城济南治病，当时，一个是省立一院，也就是后来的恢复的省立医院，一个是省立二院，即后来恢复的齐鲁医院。两个医院都住过院，效果并不是很满意。出院后，母亲回到了老家烟台。
一年以后，母亲接到了一封信，母亲很高兴。过年我回老家时，母亲拿信给我看，说齐鲁医院的医生真好，出院这么长时间了还想着她。

I remembered that my mother went to Jinan City, the provincial capital, for a hospital visit when I was a child. 信，我念完了，其实母亲不知道已经看过多少遍了，此时，她想听的是我的意见，她想让我说，“走，妈，咱回济南去，去齐鲁医院！”

母亲患的是桥本氏病，也叫慢性甲状腺炎甲状腺功能低下，不好治。

当时，我还年轻，完全不懂得病人的感受，虽然她是我母亲。

我让母亲失望了。那个年代，到大医院住院太难了。山东省被分了三大区域。省立医院分管鲁西南，齐鲁医院分管鲁西北，青医附院负责胶东半岛，看病要有户口本，不能乱看的，划区不对是拒收住院的。虽然，我在省立医院工作，对于难治的病，哪家医院也不愿意接受。

那时，魏教授正在国内研究青蒿素，经常出发到云南种植青蒿。我跟我的老师刘士怡教授参加过魏教授的科研鉴定，从中结识了许多大牌老师。

魏教授做的随访工作很认真。经常通过电话询问我母亲的病情，并及时调整药物的剂量。

后来，我出国了两年，母亲在老家患上了尿毒症。做为泌尿外科医生的我，虽然亲手组建了山东省立医院肾移植科和泌尿外科微创治疗医疗中心，并担任首任科主任，给病人做过了上万台手术，却没有给母亲治好病。一辈子所学过的医学知识，没有给母亲用上。这不得不说是一大遗憾，现在回想起来，心里头有说不出来的痛楚。
说到这里，我还是要感谢齐鲁医院的那封随访信，感谢给我母亲治过病的魏教授，您们的随访信和电话给我母亲带来的温暖，至今还暖着我的心。
