Toads breed in water. In springtime male and female toads gather in large numbers around ponds, marshes, and ditches. 蟾蜍在水中繁殖。在春季，雌性蟾蜍大量聚集在池塘，沼泽和沟渠周围。

In the sexual embrace, called amplexus, the male toad clasps the female from behind. The pair swims about as the female, swollen with eggs, selects a site for depositing them. 雄性蟾蜍从后面抱住雌性，雌性选择一个放置排放卵。

First, the developing tadpole grows longer. 首先，蝌蚪不断增长。

• The interesting thing is that toad doesn't chew its prey and gulp it as a whole.
• As per research facts, an American toad can easily eat one thousand preys at maximum, in a day.

Have children get into pairs with pairs trying to “catch flies” by tossing raisins into each other’s mouths.

4. How to Tell the Difference Between a Frog and a Toad



后腿的区别：Frog后腿长，多跳跃；Toad后腿短，多爬行。

脚趾区别：frog拥有蹼足，可能还有粘性的垫子，大多时间生活在水中；toad脚趾分开，脚掌无垫。

身体形状：frog在外形上苗条，四肢较长；toad又矮又粗，腿较短。

皮肤：frog皮比toad皮肤光滑得多，toad上有小突起。

看颜色：通常，frog的颜色比toad的颜色浅。

跳跃：frog跳得很高，而且跳得也很长。toad跳很短，缺乏跳远的能力。

爬行：toad更喜欢爬行，而frog不会。

水源：frog需要靠近水才能生存，而蟾蜍可能会在陆地上花费大量时间。

Game2: draw a toad and a frog

1. Color or paint and decorate one coloring to resemble a frog and a toad.

Choose a light color for frog and a dark color for toad.

2. For the frog image, sprinkle a few drops of water to the paint to make a smooth moist texture.

4. Glue some green beans to make the surface appear bumpy and warty.

5. Glue some kidney beans to make dark spots on the toad surface.
