She has been inseparable from me since she was a baby, sleeping with me every day, as close as mother and daughter. I fed her, played with her, bathed her, and taught her how to speak, walk, and go to the toilet. Ja Ja is the most lovely baby I have ever seen. I would pick her up and kiss this lovely little angel with a heart full of delight. 　　我每天晚上睡觉都给她讲故事，讲得最多的是：拇指姑娘、青蛙王子、三只小猪、大灰狼、小兔子……。喳喳是一个聪明漂亮的小女孩，她非常喜欢荡秋千，她银铃般的笑声随着飞荡的秋千一串串地盘旋在周围，让人心生欢喜。这种快乐的场景通过她的眼睛和她的感受深刻地印记在心里。于是，我教她画的第一幅画就是荡秋千、还有房子、苹果树、白云、海鸥……。特别是在我读大学期间，我每天晚上都要读书复习到深夜，她总是喜欢坐在我的膝盖上，我抱着她继续看我的书，她就在书桌上绘画，非常安静，从不打扰我。当我停下来休息一会儿的时候，我又教她画美丽的图画。 I told her stories every night when we went to bed. The first picture I taught her how to draw was a picture of her playing on the swings with houses, apple trees, white clouds, and seagulls all around her. I was in college at the time, and I had to study late at night or even into the early mornings. She always liked to sit on my lap, as I held her in my arms and continued to read my books. She painted on the desk and was very quiet, never disturbing me. When I stopped to have a rest, I taught her how to draw more beautiful pictures. 　　小小的喳喳也很喜欢唱歌，一学就会，声音好好听。有一次Andy哥哥（我儿子）参加当地电台举办的歌唱比赛，要演唱一首中文歌曲《哪有一天不想你》哥哥在家经常唱，小妹妹也就学会了。哥哥上台表演的时候，我的侄子侄女都去给哥哥献花呢，好开心啊！ Little Ja Ja also likes singing very much, she learned it very quickly, and she has a good voice. Once, my son Andy took part in a singing competition held by the local radio station to sing a Chinese song, "Not one day I don't think of you." Andy often sang at home, and my little Ja Ja learned it from him. When Andy performed on the stage, my nephew Kevin and niece Ja Ja all went to present flowers to him. I was so happy. 　　喳喳三岁的时候，我带她去幼稚园面试入学，在老师的办公室里，喳喳拿起笔画了一幅在公园里荡秋千的图画，老师赞叹不已。然后，老师问她会不会唱歌，她张开小嘴就唱了那首粤语歌《哪有一天不想你》，老师好开心地笑着说：“虽然我不懂中文歌，但你唱得太棒了！”喳喳真是一个很聪明伶俐又招人喜爱的小女孩。 When Ja Ja was three years old, I took her to kindergarten for an interview for admission. In the teacher's office, Ja Ja picked up her pen and drew a picture of her playing on the swings in the park. The teacher was amazed. Then, the teacher asked her if she could sing. Ja Ja is really a very clever and lovely little girl. 　　一天晚上，我和儿子跟喳喳一起玩耍，我问喳喳谁是她的偶像，Andy哥哥在一旁跳着脚喊：“阿哥、阿哥！”我也叫着说：“姑妈、姑妈！”年幼的喳喳看看这个看看那个，无法定夺。后来，她小嘴一张：“姑妈”，真是把我乐坏了！其实，她真正的偶像是阿哥，哥哥的每一次获奖她都拿着奖座、奖牌细看良久，了解清楚是哪一类竞赛的奖项，她说要向哥哥学习。果然，她读得非常好，成绩一直遥遥领先。 One night, my son and I were playing with Ja Ja. It was incredible that such a little baby could make a sound when she was breast-fed! No wonder Andy said she was smart. 　　豆豆从小就显现出独立、勇敢、能干、勤劳、坚韧又灵活等优点。豆豆两岁就学着自己给自己梳辫子，五岁就学会了骑自行车，不怕摔更不怕痛。 Doudou has shown the advantages of independence, courage, ability, diligence, tenacity and flexibility from an early age. Doudou learned to braid her hair when she was two years old, and learned to ride a bike at the age of five. It was a small tree that grew as tall as the second floor , which DouDou had called a vegetable.  　　豆豆好喜欢我养的小狗Puffy，她每天从幼稚园放学总是先跑来我家抱小狗玩，跟小狗玩游戏，我们为了教小狗钻圈，豆豆亲力亲为从圈中钻来钻去，给小狗做示范，直到小狗学会跳跃钻圈，真是好可爱啊！ Doudou liked my puppy "Puffy" very much. Every day after kindergarten, she always came over to my house to hug Puffy and play games with Puffy. In order to teach the puppy to jump through the hoop, Doudou personally jumped through the hoop over and over again, demonstrating to the puppy until he learned to jump through the hoop. She drew a lot of childish and vivid pictures for Puffy's birthday. 　　豆豆常常带着小狗Puffy 骑单车，我们附近的老外看见她们这样骑车，觉得很稀奇，问我们是否允许他拍照？我们说：“当然可以啦，这是我们的荣幸哦！” Doudou often rode her bicycle with Puffy. Neighbors near us would be surprised to see them ride the bike together like that and asked if we would allow them to take pictures. We said, "Of course, it's our pleasure!" 　　豆豆对什么事情都很上心，记性又好。比如家里人找不到的东西，她一定会坚持帮忙去找，而且每次都不负众望带给大家惊喜，有时候哪怕是找两三天她都要把东西找出来，由此可见她做事情很认真很坚韧也很有责任心。平时家中里里外外的事情她都争着去做，我常常由衷地称赞她是家里勤劳的小蜜蜂。 Doudou is very attentive to everything and has a good memory. She usually competes to do things inside and outside the home, and I often sincerely praise her as a diligent little bee at home. 　　有一次，我在家里土库的天花板夹层里放了几块专门黏小老鼠的老鼠胶，两天后我想看看是否有被黏住的小老鼠，但我又害怕把手伸进天花板里真的摸到老鼠，所以，我站在椅子上，拿着相机在天花板上的开口处转来转去想拍夹层里面的情景，可无论我怎么摆弄相机还是没有办法拍到里面，这时候，在下面一直看着我的小侄女张口就说：“姑妈，你把相机伸进天花板里拍不就行了吗？”哎哟，我的豆豆真聪明啊！可不是吗？我怎么就不会这样想呢？惭愧惭愧！ One time, I put some pieces of mouse glue in the ceiling mezzanine of the dirt vault at home. Two days later, I wanted to see if any mice had been caught, but I was afraid to reach into the ceiling and touch anything. So I stood on the chair, holding the camera at the opening of the ceiling and turning around to photograph the scene inside the mezzanine, but no matter how much I played with the camera, I still couldn't get it inside. At this time, my little niece who was watching me, opened her mouth and said, "Auntie, can't you just put your camera into the ceiling and take pictures?" Oh, my Doudou is so clever! I don't see her busy reading during ordinary times, but her grades in every subject are excellent！ 　　中学时的豆豆在当地市政府办公厅做义工，我也常常接送她上下班，并嘱咐她好好利用这个机会，让自己学到更多的东西。因为在市政府办公厅工作，有机会接触到一些成功人士，多跟那些人交谈，将会受益匪浅。豆豆很听话，把我的教诲付之行动，每次我接她下班，她都告诉我一些好消息，比如，警察局长告诉她警察是如何处理超速行驶的惩罚；议员、市长他们又告诉她如何选择理想的大学，又向她介绍各个大学的特点等等。在工作中，豆豆勇于表达自己的想法，所以，这些成年人都很喜欢她，并给了她很多建议，告诉她很多事情，传授她很多知识，豆豆非常开心。 Doudou worked as a volunteer in the general office of the local municipal government when she was in high school, and I often took her to and from work, and told her to make good use of this opportunity to learn more. Working in the general office of the municipal government would provide her the opportunity to get in touch with some successful people and network with them. Doudou was very obedient and took action on my teachings. Every time I picked her up from work, she told me some good news. For example, The police chief told her how the police dealt with the punishment for speeding; the congressman and mayor also told her how to choose the ideal university, and introduced her to the characteristics of each university, and so on. At work, Doudou had the courage to express her ideas, so these adults liked her very much. They gave her a lot of advice and broadened her knowledge, and Doudou was very happy. 　　长大了的豆豆仍然保持孩童般的纯真、温柔、善良，并且更加懂事了，非常体贴和关心家人，常常帮助家人分忧解难。比如我想更换一个新的车房门，估计大概需要花费一千多到两千美元左右，豆豆知道了，她热心地打电话和上网多方了解各个公司的价钱、质量、保险、客户评价等方面的问题，然后分析比较，提供给我最好的选择。豆豆真是我们家人的暖心宝贝啊！ The now grown-up Doudou still maintains her childlike innocence, tenderness, kindness, and sensibility. Doudou is really a warm-hearted girl in our family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 　　这是喳喳和豆豆参加的第二届芝加哥少年五公里马拉松比赛，豆豆后来还参加了第三届、第四届和第五届的马拉松比赛，直至她读中学的时候仍然参加跑步运动。 This was the second Chicago Junior 5k Marathon that Ja Ja and Doudou competed in. Doudou later competed in the third, fourth and fifth marathons, and she went on to join the track team when she was in high school. 　　喳喳和豆豆读小学和中学都要乘坐校车，上下车的地点与我家相隔仅仅二三十步，距离很近，很方便。但遇到下雨或下雪的天气，我不忍心让她们站在路上等校车，我会让她们坐上我的车，我开车送她们到校车上落点，等校车到了，她们才离开我的车，立即迈上校车上学，这样她们就不会太冷。 When Ja Ja and Doudou went to primary and middle school, they took the school bus, and the bus stop was only 20 or 30 steps away from my home, which was very close and convenient. But when it rained or snowed, I couldn't bear to let them stand on the road outside and wait for the school bus. I would let them get in my car and then drive them to the bus stop to wait for the school bus. When the school bus arrived, they would leave my car and immediately get on the school bus to go to school. That way they don't get too cold. 　　我一直都是很爱护她们的，常常跟她们聊天，关心她们的想法，指导她们给自己制订短期目标，并努力实施，与她们分享学习的心得，教她们与人相处之道，培养她们正直善良、热情大方、认真负责的良好品德，鼓励她们积极向上，做一个能给社会和人们带来好处的人，让自己的生命有价值。 I always love them very much. Every child is great! 　　他们小时候有很多趣事，记得有一天我先生洗干净一盘葡萄，叫两个小侄子一起吃，当年大侄子阿弟Kevin 4 岁，小侄子阿B Casey 只是2 岁。他们吃了几个就不吃了，兄弟俩把盘子中的葡萄一个一个地塞进我先生的嘴里，我先生乐呵呵地接应不暇，吃到最后一个，是阿B 给他的，他马上就感觉这个葡萄的口感很不一样，软软的暖呼呼的，一看阿B，原来他把一直含在嘴里很久的葡萄也拿出来喂给我先生吃了（他常常喜欢把食物含在嘴里不吞下去）。哈哈哈，真是太逗了。 They had a lot of interesting memories when they were young. I remember that one day my husband washed a plate of grapes and asked my two little nephews to eat together. My eldest nephew, Kevin, was 4 years old, and my younger nephew, Casey, was only 2 years old. They stopped eating a few of them, and the two brothers stuffed the grapes from the plate into my husband's mouth one by one. My husband was filled with delight. When he ate the last one, it was given to him by Casey. My husband immediately felt that the taste of this grape was very different, soft and warm. Turns out Casey had kept this grape in his own mouth for a long time, took it out, and fed it to my husband secretly. (Casey often liked to keep the food in his mouth and not swallow it). Ha, ha, so funny!  　　我的大侄子和大侄女都是同一年出生的孩子，小时候的阿弟总是追随着喳喳阿姐，很痴情，我们常常笑他：“以后阿姐长大读大学了，你怎么跟她在一起？”小小的阿弟毫不犹豫地说：“我要跟阿姐读同一个大学，我还要跟阿姐住同一个宿舍。”哈哈哈，真是把我们笑翻了！ My eldest nephew and niece were both born in the same year. When Kevin was a child, he always followed Ja Ja. He was so infatuated that we often laughed at him: "When Ja Ja grows up and goes to college, how are you going to be with her?" Little Kevin said without hesitation, "I want to go to the same university as my sister , and I want to live in the same dormitory with her." Ha, ha! it really made us laugh! 　　这些小孩子真的好可爱，他们之间相处得非常友好，从来都不吵闹。有时候我在看书或看电视的时候，其中一些有趣的情节让我忍俊不禁地大笑起来。而当他们看到我在哈哈笑，无论他们正在玩什么，尽管他们根本不知道我为什么笑得那么欢，但他们马上就跟着我一起哈哈大笑，而且比我笑得还响亮。哈哈哈！真是太逗了，姑妈和孩子们狂笑成一团。 These children are really cute. They get along very well with each other and never quarrel with each other. Sometimes when I was reading a book or watching TV, some interesting plots make me laugh. And when they saw me laughing, no matter what they were playing, although they had no idea why I laughed so much, they immediately laughed with me and laughed louder than I did. Ha ha ha!
