At each stage, water changes and moves. water can’t be created or destroyed, instead, it is constantly changing forms in a never ending cycle.

1. Evaporation

The first stage in the water cycle is called evaporation. During this stage, the heat from the sun causes water found in rivers, lakes, and oceans to turn from liquid to gas.

We often think about evaporation as the water disappears, but water never truly disappears. Evaporated water is in the form of a gas and it collects in the sky to form clouds.

Experiment 1- evaporation

Let's do some experiments.

Firstly let's heat the water in our pan.

Fill some water in the pan and turn on the fire.

Can you see the bubbles in the pan? It is turning into gas.

Can you see the smoke in the air? This is the gas of the water, The water vapour. the water is turned from the liquid to gas. This is called evaporation.

Does the water disappear?

S: No.

Where is the water?

S: It's in the air.

2. Condensation

The second stage in the water cycle is called condensation. Condensation happens when the water vapor (gas) in the clouds becomes cold enough to form water droplets.

Clouds are tiny drops of water in the air. They are so small and light that they float in the air.

Experiment 2-condensation

please come and check the lid of the pan.

Is it dry or wet?

It's dry.

Yes . then I will pour more water in the pan.

let's cover the pan with the lid.

And then let's wait for a while. After 1 minute let's check it.

Okay come and see what happened!

Let's lift up the lid. See this!

There are a lot of water drops on the lid.

Yes you're right. you know what happened? I tell you the process.

When the fire heat the water, the water Evaporate.

that is the process of evaporation. They become water vapor and goes up up up. And then they reached the lid.

But the lid is not that hot, so they condense.

That is the process of comdensation.

And when they are too heavy, and then they fall off.

That is the process of, precipitation.

Experiment 3-condensation: cloud (Eric妈妈)

Clouds are tiny drops of water in the air. Precipitation

The third stage in the water cycle is called precipitation. When water falls from clouds it's called precipitation.

In this stage, water falls from the sky in various forms of precipitation:

Rain

Sleet

Snow

Hail

Experiment 3-precipitation: RAIN

Getting the Rain Cloud in a Jar Ready

Clear jar

gauze

watercolor

Another jar full of water

Plastic pipettes or dropper

Paper towels

1). place the gauze on top of the empty jar.

2). fill another jar with water and colored it with blue color.

3). fill up pipette with blue water and then to carefully squirt the water onto the gauze.

4). When water droplets grow heavy enough, gravity pulls them down as raindrops!

4. Collection

The final stage of the water cycle is often called the collection stage. At this stage, the precipitation that falls from the sky is gathered into oceans, lakes, rivers, and even the rain puddles.

After water is collected into Earth’s rivers and lakes, the process begins again. The water cycle keeps repeating and it never ends!

5. Water cycle

The water cycle describes how water evaporates from the surface of the earth, rises into the atmosphere, cools and condenses into rain or snow in clouds, and falls again to the surface as precipitation. The water falling on land collects in rivers and lakes, soil, and porous layers of rock, and much of it flows back into the oceans, where it will once more evaporate. The cycling of water in and out of the atmosphere is a significant aspect of the weather patterns on Earth.

Experiment 5-water cycle

there is the last and the most interesting experiment for us today.

Cut a 2 liter bottle in half.

Put warm water in the bottom. In the top of the bottle add ice, then put the top of the bottle into the bottom of the bottle.

And you please just keep your eyes wide open and check what is happenning on this bottle!

Did you see the water evaporate?

When the water evaporate, they go up and up. they reach the cold lid. they cool very quickly and then they condense. that is the process of condensation.

And gradually they become bigger and bigger, heavier and heavier.

When it is too heavy what will happen?

The water will fall off.

yes you're right. when they fall off, that is the process of precipitation.

When they fall off, they fall in the box. And we can see that it is the process of collection.
