今日主题:举例学习Reduce, reuse, recycle的含义，玩垃圾分类游戏，这个以前玩过一次娃基本都记住了，今天按照小册子把不同的卡片都分类到不同的垃圾箱中。正好读完牛9的The little queen，区别了一下不同垃圾的说法

Supplementary -How to save water

Water is very important in our life. We drink it every day and use it to cook and wash things.We can not live without water.

However, many rivers and lakes have gotten dirty.

People inmany places cannot get enough water while some people are wasting water. It’stime for us to do something to save water.

But how can we save water?

There are several ways to save water:

1、Firstly, we should try to use water more than once.

We can do many things with the used water.

For example, we should keep the waterafter we wash fruits and vegetables, and then use it to mop the floor or cleanthe toilet.

2、Secondly, we’d better have a shower instead of a bath.Because bathing needs much more water than showering.

3、Thirdly, we should remember to turn off the tap whilewe are brushing our teeth.

4、Fourthly, it is also helpful if we tell people aroundus to save water together.

If we do not save water,the last drop of water will be a teardrop.To protect water is to protect our life.

1.Check for leaks - check taps and pipes in your house to make sure there is no leaks

2.Use water saving shower heads. They spread the water out so you use Less each time.

3.Turn the tap off when you brush your teeth or wash your hands. Don’t leave the tap running.

4.Learn how to wash your own car. Use a sponge and a bucket of water to save on aU of the water used at a carwash.

Reduce

There are many ways you can reduce the amount of waste you create.

Say no to disposable/dI spauzabal/一次性的 shopping bags. Bring your own reusable ones instead.

Choose products that have the least amount of packaging.

Buy unpackaged items in loose bins when available.

Use what you already have instead of buying something new.

Reuse

To reuse means to continue using the products you have, instead of disposing of them and buying new ones.

Purchase reusable, rather than disposable, products such as mugs, dishes cloth,napkins and mental cutlery instead of paper cups, plates, and napkins,and plastic utensils.cutlery /katlarI/ Cutlery consists of the knives, forks, and spoons that you eat your food with.餐具

Use reusable containers, like water bottles and soap containers, whenever possible.

When you must use them take only as many single-use items like paper napkins.

Mend clothing and repair what you can so that they can be reused.

Sell or donate used clothing and toys instead of throwing them out.

Use both sides of paper when printing from your computer.

Recycle

Many products are recyclable, meaning they can be made into other products.

Find shops that accept products like used batteries, motor oil, paint cans, plastic bags,and cell phones, and take these items there when you are finished using them.

Place all recyclable items,such as glassaluminum, steel, paper and plastic,in the appropriate containers around your home.

Why Do We Recycle?

Why do we recycle? We do it so that we can take care of the environment, be less wasteful, and more mindful of the things we own and use.

There is a a good phrase to keep in mind Reduce, reuse, recycle."

Do you know what it means?

Well, "reduce" means to make less of something or make something smaller.

When we reduce pollution, litter, or the waste we produce each day, we make less than before.

Can you think of an example?

Well, we could ride our bikes to the park instead of driving the car. It would reduce gas pollution.

Let's think about the next one -- reuse.

What does "reuse" mean?

To use again.

Mom: Right, or to create a new purpose for something.

Like when my baby brother wears my old baby clothes?

Good example!

There is no need to throw away good clothing.

We can pass it down to siblings or give it to charity.

What about the last word, recycle?

Can you think of a way we recycle?

We sort our garbage.

Mm-hm, and it can be processed and used to make something else.

Recycling gives things a new life and helps us take care of the environment.

垃圾分类Game：Waste Sorting/Garbage Classification

为了便于区分和娃理解，借用了广大网友的好办法：猪能吃的叫湿垃圾；猪都不吃的叫干垃圾；猪吃了会死的叫有害垃圾；可以卖出去换猪的叫可回收垃圾。

1.Waste that can be eaten by pigs is wet waste.

猪能吃的，是湿垃圾

2.Waste that pigs refuse to eat is dry waste.

猪不能吃的，是干垃圾

3.Waste that may kill pigs is hazardous waste.

猪吃了会死的，是有害垃圾

4.Waste that can be sold and used to buy pigs is recyclable waste.

卖了可以买猪的，是可回收垃圾

另外，和小西妈学到了扔垃圾怎么说:

在家里: Take out the trash/ rubbish /garbage.

在大街上: Put it in the dustbin /trash can.

英式英语: Garbag/ trash.

美式英语: Rubbish.

As you can see, there are 4 different colors of recyclling bin. Each bin is a different color to help us remember how to sort.

2. Recyclable Waste 可回收物

可回收物有纸类(Paper)，塑料(Plastic)，玻璃(Glass)，织物(Textile)，金属(Metal)等。

3. Household Food Waste 湿垃圾

湿垃圾主要指厨余（食物）垃圾。

4. Residual/rɪ'zɪdʒuəl/ Waste干垃圾

Residual 指剩余的；残留的。

干垃圾可以理解成除上述几类之外的其他垃圾。比如：砖瓦陶瓷，尘土，已污染的卫生纸/纸巾、难以回收以及暂无回收利用价值的废弃物。
