Welcome to the dinosaur corner in the classroom! The children have had a lot of fun dressing up as these cardboard dinosaurs, and looking at the dinosaur books too. They have even painted some dinosaurs themselves.

In this photo, some of the children in class have been busy sticking paper and different materials onto their dinosaur, and then presenting it to the class.

Here is an example of some children in the class playing with the dinosaurs! This has been an absolute favourite for all the children

During one English circle time, teacher Jamie taught the class about dinosaurs, and the different colours on the dinosaurs. The children really like listening to the song ‘1 little, 2 little 3 little dinosaurs’!

Here, some children wanted to take part in this activity. This task was for the children to decorate and paint a dinosaur! We encouraged the children to help put some ‘clothes’ on the dinosaur which really interested the children to participate.

Dinosaur footprint time! In this activity the children were creating footprints using the toy dinosaurs onto play dough. They enjoyed seeing the footprints and feeling proud of their creations.

We also invited some of the children from the older classes to talk about all the different facts they have learned about dinosaurs!

In order to prepare for a fun dinosaur activity, Zoe explained to the class what must be worn and also taught the children how to use the tools!

After gaining the knowledge, the children now understand they must wear goggles and an apron before excavating the dinosaurs! They have mini tools to help them dig the dinosaur eggs open! After some perseverance, some of the children have cracked open the egg to reveal little dinosaurs!

The children have also been learning about silkworms and how to take care of them during circle time!

Here are the silkworms the children have been learning about! They have seen them grow from babies, and look how big they have become already!

The children looking at the silkworms fascinated by them!

The other classrooms also have silkworms! Sometimes the children take Infant B’s silkworms and visit the other classroom’s to compare the silkworms! This photo is a visit to Preschool C class, where teacher Claire is showing and talking about the silkworms.

As the unit is currently ‘Animals’ we have been singing many different animal songs. Five little ducks is a popular one in class, here are the children performing five little ducks with teacher Jamie

Finally, the children have been learning about the different footprints for many animals! In this game, the children have to find the animal and the matching footprint! What a fun challenge for them.

That’s all for now, stay tuned for more classroom fun updates!
