难过的一天

Eliza Jane is angry. Eliza Jane is mad. She's having a very bad day. It's the worst she's ever had.

伊丽莎．简很生气。伊丽莎．简气疯了。她今天过得很糟糕。这是她有生以来最糟糕的一天。

At school, a boy called Billy throws a book across the class. It hits a classroom win dow. It breaks a pane of glass.

在学校，一个叫比利的男孩把一本书从教室这头儿扔到教室那头儿。书撞到了教室的窗户，打碎了一块玻璃。

The teacher asks，"Who threw the book？ Please tell me their name." Billy pionts across the classroom. He says, "It was Eliza Jane!"

老师问·“谁扔的书？请告诉我这个人的名字!”比利指着教室的另一侧，说：“是伊丽莎．简。”

"Eliaza？"says the teacher. "Please tell me it's not true." "It wasn't me!" says Eliza. She looks at Billy. "It was you!"

“伊丽莎?”老师说，“请告诉我这不是真的。"“不是我!”伊丽莎说。她看着比利。“是你!”

The teacher looks at Billy. Billy's face goes red. "You're in a lot of trouble, Billy! Go and see the Head!"

老师看着比利。比利的脸红了。“比利，你有麻烦了! 去见校长吧!”

Billy leaves the classroom. Tears fill Eliza's eyes. Why did Billy point at her? Why did he tell lies?

比利离开了教室。伊丽莎的眼睛里充满了泪水。为什么比利指向她？他为什么要撒谎？

Billy taps the office door. The Head shouts, "Please come in!" Billy is very worried. He's afraid when he walks in.

比利敲了敲办公室的门。校长大声说：“请进!”比利很惶恐。走进去的时候他很害怕。

"A broken win dow!" says the Head. "What were you thinking, Billy?" Throwing books is dangerous. Throwing books is silly!

“窗户碎了!”校长说，“比利， 你到底在想什么呢？”扔书是很危险的行为! 扔书是愚蠢的行为!

Billy takes a deep breath. He is sorry and he's sad. He knows it's wrong to throw things. He knows that it is bad.

比利深吸了一口气。他感到很抱歉，他很难过。他意识到了扔东西是不对的，这是不道德的行为。

When Billy gets back to the class, he sees Eliza Jane. But Eliza will not look at him. She will not say his name.

比利回到教室，看到了伊丽莎．简。但是伊丽莎．简不肯看他 。伊丽莎．简不肯叫他的名字。

At lunch time, Billy is busy. The Head gives him jobs to do. Billy has to sweep the playground and pick up litter too.

午饭时间，比利很忙。校长派给他 一些工作去完成。比利不得不清扫操场，还得捡垃圾。

Eliza sits alone while the other children play. They ask her to play with them, but she sends them all away.

其他孩子玩耍时，伊丽莎独自坐着。他们邀请伊丽莎一起来玩，但是她把他们都打发走了。

Eliza is cross with Billy. He lied. She 's feeling mad. So she marches up to Billy, then she does something bad.

伊丽莎在生比利的气。 他说谎了。伊丽莎情绪有些失控，他大步走到比利面前，然后做了不明智的举动。

She takes the bag of rubbish and tips it on the grass. She pulls a face at Billy then marches back to class.

她拿过垃圾袋，把垃圾倒在了草地上。她冲着比利做了个鬼脸，然后大步走回了教室。

When the teacher asks, "Who made that mess? Who could it be?" Billy puts his hand up. He says, "I'm sorry. It was me!"

老师问：“是谁把垃圾弄得乱糟糟的？是谁呢？”比利举起手，说：“很抱歉，是我做的!”

Now Eliaza's feeling bad. But what will put things right? At bedtime, she can't go to sleep. She stays awake all night.

现在伊丽莎感觉很糟糕。但是怎样才能弥补过错呢？晚上，伊丽莎无法入睡，她整晚都失眠了。

Next day, the Head gives Billy a lot more jobs to do. But Eliza says, "Don't worry. I will be helping you."

第二天，校长给了比利更多的工作。伊丽莎说·“别担心，我来帮你。”

So, Billy works together with his classmate, Eliza Jane. Everyone is happy that they are friends again.

于是，比利和的同学伊丽莎．简一起工作。所有人都很高兴，因为他们俩又是朋友了。
