Spring Festival is the Chinese New Year. It starts on the 1st and ends on the 15th of lunar January.

The origin of the Chinese new year, the most famous is the "beast" fable. "New year beast" is a terrible animal. Ancient people believed that "new year beast" would come out to eat people on New Year's Eve. It is said that "New Year's beast" is extremely afraid of red, flame and noisy sound. People stick red paper at the door, and choose torches all night, set off guns and candles to avoid "New Year's beast". Since then, every year on New Year's Eve, every family pasted red couplets and set off firecrackers. This custom spread more and more widely and became the most solemn traditional culture among Chinese people

What other activities besides the above activities are there for the Spring Festival? In our family, every year we go back to our hometown and have a reunion dinner with our family. Adults will give us red envelopes, and we will watch the Spring Festival Gala. This is my special spring festival.
