WHAT <p class="ql-block"> Rainforests are thick forests in the hot parts of the world. It rains a lot. And the ground is always wet. It's always dark and hot in rain forests. Rain forest covers six percent of the earth's surface.</p> <p class="ql-block"> They provide places to live for thousands of plants and animals found nowhere else on earth.There are lots of tall trees and other different kinds of plants. Thousands and thousands of animals live in rainforests. Many of them live in the trees over 30 metres from the ground.Without rain forests, many beautiful plants and animals would die out.</p> IMPORTANT <p class="ql-block">Rain forests are very important to us. They are the lungs of the earth, because it produces more than 20% of the world's oxygen. The plants in the forest help to make the air fresher and cleaner.</p> <p class="ql-block">They also help to hold water when it rains and keep the water cycling. They play an important part in controlling the climate. Rainforests also help to keep the beauty of nature.</p> <p class="ql-block">Rainforests give us food, food, fruit, medicine and make more useful things.</p> PROTECT <p class="ql-block">But now we should protect them.For example the Amazon rainforest—the largest rainforest in the earth.In fact, is disappearing before our eyes. And it's not just people cutting down trees these days. At least 2010.,and the resulting frequency and intensity of man made fires is a real threat to the rainforest on the planet. The damage can even be seen from space.
