<p class="ql-block">Dear Nelly,</p><p class="ql-block">I am so glad that you wrote me a letter. Now my elves and I know exactly where you live and what you want for the Christmas, so we will arrive on Christmas eve with the presents you asked for. I feel a little bit sorry because I have been looking everywhere but still could not find a princess that can talk and walk very good. But don’t get upset, I prepared a fancy princess that looks like a real one. I believe that you will love it.</p><p class="ql-block">I know that you have been good most of the time during all this past year.</p> <p class="ql-block">First, you are much more patient when you are confronted by any difficulty, like building blocks, assembling puzzles… Remember that everything is difficult before it becomes easy. Be patient and stick to it. Try to be resourceful. Nothing would be difficult.</p> <p class="ql-block">Second, you are much better at making plans and following them. You are quite good at getting things done within limited time. You are so young, but you are even better than some grown-ups.</p> <p class="ql-block">Third, you make good friends at kindergarten and you know how to get well along with them. You have learned being kind to your sisters and friends. That’s really a big progress.</p> <p class="ql-block">Fourth, you have been a good helper to mommy. You even cook for her when she was ill and painful. You are such a sweet girl. Your mommy must be proud of you. And me too!</p> <p class="ql-block">Fifth, you have learned so many English books with mommy this year. There are only 4 books of Oxford Reading Tree level-9 left. That’s really amazing!</p> <p class="ql-block">Sixth, you can read English books by yourself! You are so great! You can already read Oxford Reading Tree level 7. I am shocked. The last Christmas you could only read one or two lines of quite simple books. How big progress you have made!</p> <p class="ql-block">Books read by Nelly 2020</p> <p class="ql-block">Seventh, you can read and write Chinese words as well as English. That’s so amazing. You had learned pinyin within such a short time. That also helps you reading. Now you can read most of the books at your home. Enjoy them. Books help you know more about the world and make you happy.</p> <p class="ql-block">Eighth, you love to draw pictures and painting so much and you are good at it. I love to see your pictures. Keep drawing and learning.</p> <p class="ql-block">Ninth, you can even play Ukulele. Wow! I love music too. And I love playing violin. Would you like to have a try on it? Then maybe next year you can play violin for me. Music is a wonderful thing that could make you feel peaceful. I really hope you could pick one instrument and keep learning. That will give you a different life.</p> <p class="ql-block">At last, the most important, you have learned how to jump ropes and you can skip for more than 192 times without stop. That’s much better than me. I can only do 30. Hohoho.
