Today, We are going to a farm where we can go in the fields and pick our own strawberries. Do you like eating strawberry? A: Yes, it is sweet and juicy. M:I like strawberry,too. What does a strawberry look like? A: It is red. M: And it is shaped like a heart. There are many seeds on the surface of the strawberry. And a seed will become a new plant. Now， let's learn other facts about strawberry. 二、All about strawberry strawberries are the favorite fruit of many kids. Strawberries can provide Vitamin C for kids. Vitamin c is good for your health. Orange can provide vitamin C ,too. One cup of strawberries is only 55 calories. That means eating strawberries can not make you fat. So, tuck in. There is a museum in Belgium(比利时) just for strawberries. And In Lebanon(黎巴嫩), there is a Strawberry Festival once a year. People will make a largest strawberry cake in the world.  Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen（成熟） in the spring. Strawberries are a member of the rose family. What a surprise! On average, there are 200 seeds in a strawberry. The fruit size of the very early strawberries was very small. But farmerplant them very well. The fruit is bigger and nice now. Americans love to plant strawberry and make strawberry jam, too. 三、Plant a Strawberry 种草莓You can grow strawberries from seeds or an existing plant(现有植物). Just like our strawberry in the balcony(阳台). That's an existing plant. It's generally easier, however, to grow strawberries from plants, because you don't have to prepare the seeds and sow them. As a result, you often have more opportunities to succeed in growing existing plants. Stage1Strawberry seeds are first grown into plants. These plants begin to develop in the late summer season. Stage2Yellow and white strawberry flowers or blossoms begin to grow on the strawberry plants. Stage3Green baby strawberries begin to form from the yellow center of the blossom. One flower equals one berry. Stage4Within 30 days from the blossom forming the red ripe strawberries are ready to be picked.  四、At the Strawberry Farm  （一）介绍草莓农场采摘规则Welcome to the strawberry farm, kids. Look, farmers grow fresh, delicious strawberries on their farms. Visitors come to the farms and pick their own strawberries to bring home. Picking strawberries is popular in our city. At most strawberry farms, you don't have to pay a fee to get in. You just pay for the strawberries you pick. Everyone can have fun picking strawberries and filling a basket. You can enjoy other things at the farms, too. Some of the farms sell foods like strawberry ice cream. At every farm, you will get a short lesson on how to pick berries. I found the strawberries! Strawberries grow on bushes ,Growing on an Herb Plant. What is growing on tree /on the vines /in the ground？ Eggplants ,strawberries ,tomatoes ,blueberries and so on. Do you know what is growing on the bushes? （二）开始摘草莓Now, I will show you how to pick strawberry. Take a basket and a pair of scissors, then pick a red and ripe strawberry, cut，and put into the basket gently. Remember, the redder the berry, the sweeter it will taste. Don't pick the green or white ones. Those aren't very sweet and juicy. The green ones are not ripe yet. They still need to grow some more and turn red and sweet before they are ready to pick and eat. This strawberry is rotten, we can not eat it. If you eat it, your tummy will hurt. Good choice, it looks perfectly ripe and fresh. Excellent, you have filled up your basket. Look, flowers begin to grow on the strawberry plants. Can you see the yellow and white strawberry blossoms？These are white petals. How many white petals can you see? Look at the yellow center. This is mummy pistil，this is daddy stamen. One flower one berry！Look, the green baby strawberry begin to form from the yellow center of the blossom. Look，this is bud. Around the outside are the sepals. They form a little cup to protect the flower，as the flower blossoms，the sepals open too！ （三）草莓如何传播花粉Inside each flower are the male and female parts. What makes a new fruit grow? The male parts are called stamens，stamens is dad，look, these are many stamens. Many daddy stamens are around mummy pistils. They sticking out in the circle. At the Top of each daddy stamen，pollen is made. See the yellow powder. They are pollen, daddy stamens can produce pollen！ So at the center of the flower, there are pistils, there are mommy！ The female part of the flower is called pistil（mommy）. The mommy pistils have sticky tops，Mummy pistils can receive the pollen. Let's see a flower. This is receptacle. The receptacle will become berry. Receptacle can produce seeds. Plants cannot move. They cannot carry the pollen themselves. They need helpers to take pollen from daddy stamens to mommy pistils. Bees and butterfly are some of plant best helpers. They are attracted to the colorful petals！They like the smell of sweet flowers juice，the nectar！ As they gather，pollen stick to their bodies！ When they land on the flower of others. Some of this pollen falls off.Then the receptacle will become berry. There are many seeds on the surface of the strawberry！This process is called pollination.这个过程叫做授粉。 （四）称重&结账After we finish picking our strawberries, take them to the cashier. Let go to weigh the strawberries we picked. The cashier will weigh them. Then you know how much money to pay. Now put them on the scale, then a number will appear, this is our strawberries weight. Then you know how much money to pay. After you buy your strawberries, you can eat them. But don't eat them before you buy them. Did you get it? OK, let's go to pick strawberries.买了草莓之后就可以吃了。但没买的时候不可以吃。明白了吗？好吧，我们去摘草莓吧。Excellent, you have filled up your basket. Wow, so many big, red strawberries! You are good at picking strawberries!太好了，你已经把篮子装满了。哇，这么多大的，红色的草莓！你很擅长采摘草莓哦！ 五、洗草莓，吃草莓M: Woo, what appetizing（诱人的) strawberries! They must be delicious! But we should wait for a moment.喔，多美味的草莓啊！一定很好吃！但我们应该等一下。 A: Why？M: Farmer will spray some chemical pesticides on strawberries to make them look prettier. So, there are residual pesticides(残留农药) on the strawberry. Pesticides are something harmful for our health. So, we must remove them away.农民会在草莓上喷洒一些化学杀虫剂，让他们看起来更漂亮。因此，草莓上有残留的杀虫剂。杀虫剂对我们的健康有害。所以，我们必须把它们去除掉。We must wash them with fruit and vegetable wash, rinse twice with fresh water, and then soak them with saline water(盐水) for a while before eating. saline water is the water with some salt, it is salty.吃之前一定要用果蔬清洁剂清洗，然后用清水漂洗两遍，放在盐水里浸泡一会儿再吃。盐水是含盐的水，它是咸的。 Do you know what the saline water for? If you don’t have fruit and vegetable wash, Saline water can also wash the chemical pesticide very well.你知道盐水是干什么用的吗？如果你没有果蔬清洁剂，盐水也能很好地清洗化学农药。Although it is a little bit trouble, it is for our health. Follow me and we can make delicious strawberry jam at home. Step 1Wash the strawberries and remove the top portions(草莓顶部). Step 2chop the strawberries into small pieces, put them in a bowl. Step 3Put some sugar in the bowl and mix them well, then wait at least 1 hour . 加白糖腌制Salting(腌制) is to make strawberries jam taste better. Step 4Pour the mixture(混合物) into the pot, boil it over a low heat, and keep stiring with a table spoon to make the sugar dissolve(溶化).将混合物倒入锅中，用小火将其煮沸，并用茶匙不断搅拌，使糖溶解。煮草莓酱。Step 5Put some rock candy and keep stirring . It will become thick.放些冰糖继续搅拌。它会变浓稠。(PS：网上说加一点柠檬汁会更好，我放了酸梅汁。)Step 6Turn the flame off and fill the jar with the jam. Step 7When the jam cools, cover it and put it in the fridge. M: Wonderful. I will buy some toast tomorrow, spread jam on the toast, then we can eat the strawberry jam. A: Yummy, yummy.
