Crafts: Hen paper craft</b><div>Materials: Paper, scissors, glue, Paints<b><br></b></div> Instructions:<br>•Print out the template of choice.<br>•Color(where appropriate)and cut out the template pieces. <br>•Glue the hen together in the following order:<br>•Glue the feet onto the egg shaped body <br>•Glue the eyes onto the body <br>•Glue the beak onto the body <br>•Glue the wattle under the beak <br>•Glue the comb onto the top of the head <br>•Glue the wings onto the body<br><div><br></div><div><b>5. Egg experiments:</b><br><b>(1) Floating egg--Salt water density</b><br>Materials: 2 Tall glasses big enough to hold an egg; Warm water; Salt.<br></div><div>Steps:<br>1) Start by filling one glass about 2/3 of the way full with water. Ask the kids what will happen if you carefully drop an egg into the glass of water. Now go ahead and do it!<br>2) In the other glass, fill to the same height with water. Now stir in 3 tablespoons of salt. Mix well to dissolve the salt! Ask the kids what they think will happen this time and demonstrate!<br>The second egg should float due to the change in density of the water!<br></div> 话说用的盐真的是要足够多才行，Eric一直再加盐搅拌再加盐再搅拌... <b>科学原理：Density</b><br>Objects that are denser than water sink and those that are less dense than water float. Hollow things often float too as air is less dense than water.<br>Adding salt to water makes the water denser. As the salt dissolves in the water, it adds mass (more weight to the water). This makes the water denser and thus allows more objects to float on the surface that would sink in fresh water.<div><br><div><b>(2) Egg Drop Instructions</b><br>Materials: Packaging materials: towel; tissue, water, rice, bags.<br></div></div><div>Directions:<br>Step 1: Fill all your bags with packaging materials while carefully fitting in an egg into each bag. You can tape the bags shut if you want. We did use tape for the bag of water.<br>Step 2: Once your bags are completed, your egg drop challenge is ready for you to test! Make sure to drop the eggs from the same height each time!<br></div> 结果表明，毛巾和大米包裹的鸡蛋没有碎，而在自来水（原本应该替换盐水再试试，妈妈居然把第一个实验的盐水倒掉了，崩溃...）中和纸巾包裹的鸡蛋碎了，分析了原因是没有足够的缓冲。<div><b><br></b></div><div><b>(3) Rubber egg </b><br></div><div>Materials: Raw Eggs; Household Vinegar; Jar/Vase;<br><b>Directions:</b><br>Step 1: Place an egg in the jar and cover with vinegar. You can color the vinegar for rainbow-colored rubber eggs too!<br>Step 2: Wait and watch!<br>Notice the bubbles on the eggshell! This is the acid in the vinegar reacting with the calcium carbonate in the shell. This reaction is producing a gas called carbon dioxide!<br>Step 3: After 48 hours, remove the egg and rinse it off. Ours had a layer of brown scum that was easily washed away! The hard outer shell is gone and the egg white and yolk are surrounded by a thin membrane.<br></div> 家里没有白醋，Eric想到用柠檬酸代替，果然给力，很快就产生强烈的化学反应，蛋壳最外面的颜色薄层已经被分解掉，得到rubber egg估计一晚上就可以了。 效果图，柠檬酸够多够给力。<div><b>Can an egg bounce?</b></div><div>Yes!! How high can an egg bounce?</div>TEST IT: How high can your egg bounce before it breaks? Watch out! This might get messy!<br> <b>Can you see through an egg?</b><div>Well, in general, you can't see through a regular raw egg but what about a rubber egg. What happens when you put the naked egg up to a flashlight?<br>TEST IT: You can see through it! You can even see the yolk rolling around inside. Why is this? Because the hard outer shell is no longer there, you can see through the membrane of the egg.<br></div> <div>等待明天蛋壳溶解完就可以观察了。</div><b><div><b><br></b></div>5. Mum: Wow, you did a good job.<br><div><br></div><div>PS： 今天复习儿歌内容，受然妈启发，做了几个关于鸡蛋的实验，很对Eric胃口，值得表扬的是LC的涂色终于可以规矩一些了，狠狠表扬了一下，但还是喜欢加工创作。</div>
