<p>Monday&nbsp;</p><p>Once again coming back from the weekend, the students were very energetic and we had some time to play outdoors. After enjoying their daily morning snack, we continued with the program of activities related our topic of the week, “Space” and gathered in the classroom to learn about the different types of rockets. They learned from the basic types to most complex ones. Small rockets like fireworks, toy rockets. Medium size rockets like rocket cars, rocket planes, etc. Finalizing with the large group of rockets like, military weapons, torpedos and Space rockets which will be another topic to present in the following days. Later we had a chance to plan and practice the short movie featuring our students of the Unicorn Class going to space.</p><p>星期一</p><p>周末后孩子们精力充沛,我们花了一些时间在户外玩耍。吃完早点后,我们继续了与本周主题“太空”相关的活动,并学习不同类型的火箭。他们从基本类型学到最复杂的类型。小的火箭有点像烟花,玩具火箭;中等尺寸的火箭,如火箭车、火箭飞机等;大的火箭,如军事武器,鱼雷和空间火箭,这将是另一个主题,将在未来几天我们会继续讨论。下午,我们有机会策划一场去太空的小电影。</p> <p>Tuesday&nbsp;</p><p>We reviewed the names of the different types of rockets presented today. Later we showed the students the new slides that talked about the Space rockets and each one of its missions. They were fascinated with the size of each rocket and very interested on what each one did on their missions. We also took a moment to show them different Solar System models built by students of other schools so they can get inspired to build their own. This activity involved multiple materials that the students could choose as a team to make their model.</p><p>星期二</p><p>我们回顾了不同类型火箭的名称。之后我们向学生们展示了关于太空火箭和它的使命。他们对各种大小的火箭都非常着迷,并且对每个火箭在执行任务时所做的事情非常感兴趣。我们还花了点时间向他们展示了其他学校的学生建立的不同的太阳系模型,这样他们就可以得到灵感来建造自己的太阳系模型。这项活动涉及多种材料,孩子们可以分组来制作他们的模型。</p> <p>Wednesday&nbsp;</p><p>Today we practiced and reviewed phonics, emphasizing on letter “j”. The students had a chance to say the words they know with each one of the letters of the alphabet. Part of our activities was a 2 page exercise to practice tracing letter “j”, with coloring and identifying objects that start with that letter. After gathering different materials, we divided the team in different groups to work on our project to build a Solar System model. Each student had the task to complete 2 different planets using paint or modeling clay. The activity was fun and gave them the opportunity to show their artistic abilities. We could see a lot of talent in our class.</p><p>今天我们复习了自然发音,重点说了字母“j”上。 孩子们有机会用字母发音来拓展单词,并2页练习字母“j”,的书写,涂色和说单词。我们也收集各种各样的材料,分小组制作我们的太阳系的模型,孩子们将使用颜色或粘土,每个人制作两个不同的行星。 这个活动很有趣,孩子们有机会去展示他们的艺术能力,我们可以发现孩子们的创作天赋。</p> <p>Thursday&nbsp;</p><p>Another session of “Show and tell” helped us see what the students achieved with the structures that they built. The use of multiple types of blocks gave them to option of creating different types of rooms, recreating houses, hotels, highways, amusement parks, etc. Afterward, we visited the library allowing the students to choose a new book of their interest and returning the one that they previously chose on the last visit. For the most part, they looked for books related to Space and Astronomy, however, they were also allowed to get books of their interest. Their limitless imagination also played an important part on our “Solar System” project. Mixing the different colors of modeling clay created a very interesting effect on the physical features of the planets, it gave them a more real look that was also achieved by observing the photo of a real planet.</p><p>星期四</p><p>展示作品帮助我们了解孩子们创作的建筑,他们创建不同类型的房间,重建房屋、酒店、公路、游乐园等。我们参观了图书馆让孩子们选择自己感兴趣的新书,我们请孩子们尽量寻找关于太空和天文学相关的书籍,也可以选自己感兴趣的书。 他们的无限的想象力在我们的“太阳系”项目中发挥了重要的作用。 孩子们根据行星颜色,把不同颜色的轻粘土混合一起创造了一个非常有趣的行星,对行星有了更深刻的了解。</p> <p>Friday</p><p>As every week we had our “Show and tell” session with most of our students bringing toys or some other interesting objects from home. This time they presented items like, Lego speed boats carrying dinosaurs, Ultraman action figures, Robots, Rocket Cars and one item that call the attention of most students, a marble rock. It was polished on one of its sides and the students were able to see the difference between the polished and unpolished surface of it. Later we continued with the last part of our Solar System model. After arranging the planets in different ways, the students finished the project using labels to write down the name of the planet that they modeled, making this the finish touch that got them ready to be displayed.</p><p>星期五</p><p>每周五我们都有玩具展示,孩子们把喜欢的玩具或一些其他有趣的东西带来班上。 今天分享了乐高做的快艇载着恐龙,奥特曼,机器人,火箭汽车,以及一个让大家很好奇的东西—一块大理石。 这是抛光的,孩子们能够看到抛光和无光泽的表面之间的差异。 随后我们继续制作太阳系模型,行星放进“太空”后,孩子们使用标签写下行星的名字并贴在行星旁边,进行了展示。</p>
