<p>周末去奥森公园,这里可以开展的FT非常多,关于植物、昆虫的、骑机器人电动车、划船、儿童乐园(乐仕堡)、儿童拓展、野餐,慢慢整理总结相关语言材料。</p> <p><b>关于植物</b></p><p><b>(以下内容来自mila妈妈)</b></p><p>We see different types of plants around us.</p><p>Plants are living things. They breathe and grow. They also reproduce. Most of the plants grow on land. Some plants grow in water. Plants are very useful to us. Some plants are big and strong. Some plants are small and weak.</p><p><br></p><p>Big Plants:</p><p>Tall, big and strong plants are called trees.</p><p>They have many branches.&nbsp;</p><p>They stand erect.</p><p>Trees have strong stem.</p><p>The stem of a tree is called the trunk. Trees give us shade, fruits and wood.</p><p>Peepal tree, banyan tree(榕树/菩提树), coconut tree(椰子树), etc., are big plants.</p><p><br></p><p>Small Plants:</p><p>Small plants are smaller than trees.</p><p>Their stems are thinner and weaker. They need lesser space to spread. They are not very tall.</p><p>Shrubs, herbs, climbers and creepers are small plants.</p><p><br></p><p>Shrubs(灌木):</p><p>Shrubs are smaller than trees. They have small, thin, hard, woody stem and many branches. These branches grow close to the ground. They are medium in size and they live for several years.</p><p>Rose, tulsi(杜尔茜), jasmine(茉莉), hibiscus(木槿), etc., are shrubs.</p><p>Herbs(草本植物):</p><p>Some small plants have soft and green stems. They are called herbs. Most herbs live only for a few months.</p><p>Grass, mint, wheat, sunflower, etc., are herbs.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Herbs are smaller than shrubs.</p><p>They have soft, green and thin stems. They can stand erect on the ground. They are seasonal plants.</p><p><br></p><p>Climbers(攀缘植物):</p><p>Stems of some plants are weak. They cannot stand erect on their own.</p><p>They need the support of another plant or sticks to stand. Those plants are called climbers. Climbers have tendrils(卷须) to hold the support.</p><p>Grapevine(葡萄藤), pea, money plant(黄金葛), etc., are climbers.</p><p><br></p><p>Creepers (匍匐植物):</p><p>Some plants crawl along the ground. They are called creepers.</p><p>Creepers have weak stem.</p><p>They cannot stand erect.</p><p>Pumpkin, water-melon, bottle gourd(葫芦瓜), etc., are some common creepers.</p><p><br></p><p>Thorny Plants(多刺植物):</p><p>Some plants have thorns. Animals do not eat such plants. Such plants are called thorny plants.&nbsp;</p><p>Some thorny plants are cactus(仙人掌), rose.</p><p><br></p><p>Water Plants(水生植物):</p><p>Some plants grow in water.</p><p>They are called water plants.</p><p>Water lily, lotus, water chestnut, etc., are water plants.</p><p><br></p><p>What else does plant give us?</p><p>Plant seeds give us oil. Cooking oils are made from mustard seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and coconut. Coconut oil is also used as hair oil and in shampoos.</p><p>Tea is made from the leaves of a tea bush. Coffee and cocoa are made from the beans of these plants. Chocolates are made from cocoa.</p><p>Tulsi leaves give us many medicines. Oil from the eucalyptus(/ˌjuːkəˈlɪptəs/)</p><p>tree(桉树) is used to clear up a stuffy nose(鼻塞). Neem leaves too are used as medicine. Mint is used for stomach problems.</p><p>We also know that cotton wool comes from a plant. Cotton is made into thread which we use for sewing and for making cloth. Cotton is also used to fill pillows, mattresses (床垫)and quilts.</p><p>Wood is used to make houses and furniture. Rubber, paper and jute are other common things made from plants.</p><p>How do Plants Help Animals?</p><p>Plants provide food for animals. Many animals live on leaves and grass. These animals are called herbivores. Some animals eat other animals and they are called carnivores. Animals that eat both plants and animals are called omnivores.</p><p>Many animals make their homes in trees. Others live in the shade of plants.
