<div>May 5th day light, Yang around the river Tixiao eagle; <br></div>五月五日天晴明，杨花绕江啼晓鹰; <br>You are not a county vegetarian, Jiang Wen Qi and early;<br>使君未出郡斋外，江上早闻齐和声; <br>When you are near, the horse has been red flag lead;<br>使君出时皆有准，马前已被红旗引; <br>The skirt smell of incense, silver hairpin date such as frost blade;<br>两岸罗衣扑鼻香，银钗照日如霜刃; <br>The three red flag open, two dragon spring floating;<br>鼓声三下红旗开，两龙跃出浮水来; <br>Zhao Ying model wave fly ten thousand swords, the waves singing thousand thunder;<br>棹影斡波飞万剑，鼓声劈浪鸣千雷; <br>Drum becoming almost standard emergency, two dragons like headings transient;<br>鼓声渐急标将近，两龙望标目如瞬; <br>On the slope, people call Perak panic, rainbow halo hanging pole first;<br>坡上人呼霹雳惊，竿头彩挂虹霓晕; <br>Before the ship rob water has bid, after the ship out swing space deflection.<br>前船抢水已得标，后船失势空挥挠。 ——好一场热闹的景象！他们在干什么呢？<br>——赛龙舟啊！<br>——为什么要赛龙舟？<br>——因为端午节到了啊~ <p>The Dragon Boat Festival,also called Double Fifth Festival,is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month，and usually in June in the gregorian calendar.</p><p>端午节，又称为重五节，定在每年农历的五月初五，即公历的六月。</p><p>It has a history of more than 2,000 years.</p><p>迄今为止，端午节已经有2000多年的历史了。</p> 来源(origin) <p><br></p><p>In ancient time,there was a great poet called Qu Yuan.</p><p>古时候有一个伟大的诗人叫屈原。</p><p>He couldn't bear the anguish when his mother land was invaded,so he drowned himself in the river.</p><p>他不忍亲眼看着自己的祖国被敌国侵略，投江而死。</p><p>Local residents(老百姓) rode boats to salvage and drop the rice balls into the river </p><p>to distract officious attention from Qu’s body.</p><p>他死后，爱戴他的当地百姓划船捞救。为了他身体不被破坏，还往江中投放米团来吸引鱼。</p><p>Later， people memorialised Qu's patriotism on the day that he dead.</p><p>从此以后，人们会通过一系列活动在屈原投江而死的那天来纪念他的爱国精神。</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p> 习俗(customs) <p style="text-align: center;">赛龙舟 Dragon Boat Race</p><p>The main event of the festivities is the Dragon Boat Race. These boats are long and thin with dragon heads on the bow of the ships. The boat races are said to represent the search for Qu's body, with racing boats in a forward rowing motion, to the rhythm of beating drums.</p><p>端午节期间最主要的庆祝活动就是赛龙舟。龙舟又长又窄，龙头弯在一端。据说，龙舟大赛是为了找到屈原的遗体。划龙舟时，动作还要配合着擂鼓的节奏。</p> <p style="text-align: center;">粽子 Zong Zi</p><p>Qu Yuan drowned on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 BC. Since ancient times, Chinese people threw into the water dumpling made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves on the day. Therefore, the fish would eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating Zong Zi.</p><p>屈原溺于公元前227年农历五月初五。从古代开始，中国人就在这一天向水里扔裹在粽叶或芦苇叶中的糯米团。因此，鱼就会吃糯米团而不是屈原。之后渐渐形成了吃粽子的习俗。</p><p><br></p> <p style="text-align: center;">雄黄酒 Realgar Wine</p><p>It is a very popular practice to drink this kind of Chinese liquor seasoned with realgar at the Dragon Boat Festival. This is for protection from evil and disease for the rest of the year.</p><p>在端午节，中国人习惯喝雄黄酒。这个习俗是为了在接下来的一年中驱邪祛病。</p> <p style="text-align: center;">香囊 Spice Bag</p><p>It's believed that if you carry the small spice bag around with you, it not only drives away evil spirits but also brings fortune and happiness to those who wear it. The small bags are hand-made by local craftsmen. They're made with red, yellow, green and blue silk, fine satin or cotton.
