Elle Is A Locksmith

Elle is my neighbor’s dog. She is a white pure bred German shepherd. I call her “locksmith”as she is so smart and able to open all kinds of doors . 

Two weeks after they moved in ,Elle opened the front gate of the house,running around our neighborhood.

At that time, neighbors did not know their phone number They were worried about Elle being hit by a car. Someone called the police.

It’s against law for a dog to run outside without a leash. The policeman gave my neighbor a warning after they got back home. After that ,my neighbor locked the door from the inside and never went through it again They went in and out through the garage door.

But two weeks later,Elle learned how to open the garage door. She ran outside chasing squirrels. This time ,people knew my neighbor’s phone number. They knew Elle is very friendly with people and dog. She is a people person, everyone put up with her, so they didn’t call the police again.

My neighbor changed the lock of the garage door into a code .One day, a neighbor from Indiana came over with pictures. He complained that Elle dug a hole under his fence and went in his backyard playing with his dog. The two dogs looked so happy in the pictures. 

My neighbor was very shocked. They found Elle opened the sliding door to the patio, and then opened the patio gate going to the backyard. Again,she dug a big hole under the fence gate and she went to Indiana neighbor's backyard. Elle dug the second hole to visit her friend. Finally ,my neighbor stuck the fence with concrete. 

It wasn't over yet. One day, Elle learned to undo the latch of the . She lifted it up with her nose and chewed the mesh, running outside. 

Now, you understand why I call Elle a locksmith. 

My neighbor always worried about Elle being outside ,so last year a retired policeman adopted her. He has a very big backyard for Elle to run. It is her paradise, where she can run freely and release her energy.
