Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics 

There are two main types of Olympic Games .

There are the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics .

Now you might notice the logo is the same and it's true.

The logo for the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics is the same logo .

The logo is made out of these rings a blue ,ring a gold ,ring a black, ring a ring , that's green and a red ring,

They are called the Olympic rings. 

If you ever see these rings you know it has to do with the Olympics.

It's related to the Olympics logo.

It's the symbol that represents the Olympic Games

The ancient Olympic Games date back to 776 BC, but many actually believe they were being held long before that time. Only one event took place at the ancient games. It was a short run that was called the “stade”. The race was run by men who competed in the nude. Women couldn’t compete in these games, and they were not allowed to watch either.

This tradition began during the ancient Olympic Games, over 2700 years ago in Greece. There was no torch relay in the ancient Olympics. The first torch relay took place at the 1936 games in Berlin, Germany.

My family got excited about the Olympic games when I was a girl.

I had so much fun watching the Summer games with my Daddy.We had favorite athletes,we would cheer on and watch the certain events that we like. It turned into a great time for the whole family.

BEIBEI, JINGJING, HUANHUAN, YINGYING, NINI are the mascots of BeiJing 2008 Olympic games.Linking the five names forms the sentence “Welcome to Beijing” (Bei Jing Huan Ying Nin). The mascots form the “Fuwa”, which translates as “good-luck dolls”.

Each of them correspond to the five natural elements and, apart from Huanhuan, to four popular animals in China.

Beibei the fish is a reference 参照 to the element of water. She is blue and her wish is prosperity. /prɒˈspɛrɪtɪ/ Prosperity is a condition in which a person or community is doing well financially. 繁荣

Jingjing the panda represents the forest. He is black and his wish is happiness.

Yingying, the Tibetan antelope, represents earth. He is yellow and his wish is good health.

Huanhuan is a child of fire. He is red and transmits the passion of sport as well as symbolises the Olympic flame and spirit.

I don't know why I felt so excited when I watched those videos.Maybe I just felt how time flies.

BeiJing hosted the summer Olympic gams at 2008 that was seven years before you was born.The host country needs to light the torch in Athens, ['æθənz]雅典 Greece.From Beijing, the torch was following a route passing through six continents. It really a long journey,and the organizing committee 组委会need to make sure the torch be transform safely.

Li Ning, a Chinese gymnast, lit the Olympic flame during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics after "flying" around the stadium on wires.

The 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremony was held at the Beijing National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest.

Using paper plates and tissue paper, we can easily make our own Olympic torch at home.

What we need:

thin paper plates

Auspicious /ɔːˈspɪʃəs/ 吉利的 clouds 祥云贴纸 pattened sticker(I want to make the torch that looks like BeiJing Olympic Games)

fire-colored tissue paper

invisible tape

scissors

steps:

Start by adding stickers to the bottom of the plate.Make sure we make our design on the back side of the plate so that it is easier to roll up later.

Next, gently roll the plate inward so that it is a tight roll at the bottom, but looser at the top.

Tape in place to secure once we have it positioned.

Now, layer the tissue papers, varying the angles.

We had to cut my tissue paper sheets in half to get them to the right size for the torch.

Gather the tissue paper from the center and squeeze the bottom so that it looks like the fire.

Tissue can now easily be inserted into the torch when you are ready to “light” it.

We made our own torch relay and stage our own games at home.
