It's a day for everyone to care about the Earth.

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970, when a United States senator from Wisconsin organized a national demonstration to raise awareness about environmental issues. Rallies took place across the country and, by the end of the year, the U.S. government had created the Environmental Protection Agency. By 1990, Earth Day was an event celebrated by more than 140 countries around the globe.

Earth has land and water gas

Introduced the picture of Earth and briefly talked about where we live and what the picture was.

We used blue for the water on the Earth white fir the gas and green for the land

why a we celebrate the earth day every year?

Because the pollution.

The most important question in the world today is pollution.

Pollution.

Pollution is when something harmful gets into the environment and hurts animals, plants and people. It can come from surprising places. Some types of pollution ,such as oil in the water, are easy to see, while other types are completely invisible.

1.Air pollution.

Cars, factories, farms and rubbish dumps all create toxic gases. These can spread for hundreds of miles through the air we breathe. Air pollutants are bad for our lungs, causing problems such as asthma.

2. Soil pollution.

Lots of farmers use chemicals to help their crops grow and to kill insects. These build up in the soil and make it poisonous. When it rains, the toxic chemicals get washed away from the soil and end up in local rivers, lakes and seas.

3.Water pollution.

Oil is a major cause of water pollution .It drips from both engines ,or spills when ships or pipes full of oil are damaged. it sticks to the fur and feathers of sea creatures, which then clump together and stop being waterproof. Animals can be poisoned when they try to get the oil off with their tongue or beak.

4.Noise pollution.

Loud noise is stressful enough to make us ill. One in five people in Europe can hear so much night-time noise that it could damage their health through lack of sleep. The worst noise villains 反派 are cars and aircraft.

5.Light pollution,

The night sky above towns and cities often glows with light. This can be deadly to newly hatched turtles. They mistake the lights for the moon's reflection on water and wander inland instead of out to sea.

9 ways I can help the Earth

Turn off the lights关灯

Recycle!

Save my leftovers

Be nice to the worms

Share a book分享书

Plant a tree种树

Use both sides of the paper

Save water

Clean up trash

The earth book

I turn off the faucet[ˈfɔːsɪt]龙头 I brush my teeth

and use less water for my bath because…

Most of all,I help take care of the earth because…

Earth has land and water

Introduced the picture of Earth and briefly talked about where we live and what the picture was.

We used blue for the water on the Earth and green for the land.

Happy Earth or sad earth

04:16

白色污染 white pollution (by using and littering of non-degradable white plastics)

水土流失 water and soil erosion

水土保持 conservation of water and soil

降低资源消耗率 slow down the rate of resource degradation

野生动植物 wild fauna and flora

环境负荷 carrying capacity of environment

美化环境 landscaping design for environmental purposes

酸雨、越境空气污染 acid rain and transboundary air pollution

矿物燃料(煤、石油、天然气) fossil fuels: coal, oil, and natural gas

工业废水处理率 treatment rate of industrial effluents

城市污水处理率 treatment rate of domestic sewag

3 Rs

The Earth provides many resources. It is very simple,Just remember to use the 3R's.

3R's:

Reduce the amount of things you use.

Reuse as much as you possibly can.

Recycle materials instead of throwing them away.

Recycling is important. Every day we throw

away things that are empty, broken, used or unwanted.

Recycling transforms these old

things into brand new useful things.

Recycling uses a lot less money, energy, and saves a lot of the Earth’s natural resources.

If we do not recycle our rubbish it is taken to landfill.

This is a big hole in the ground where it is

spread out and squashed down.

Burying waste in landfill spoils our countryside and is very bad for the environment. Chemicals build up underneath the surface, which can escape. A poisonous liquid can seep out and cause damage to plants, wildlife and pollute water.

Soon there will not be enough land left to build new landfill sites, so we need to prevent materials going to landfill sites by Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.

Wood from trees is used to make paper and cardboard boxes.

Oil is extracted and processed to make plastics.

Metal ores are mined to make cans

Sand and other minerals are used to make glass.

By Recycling we can Reduce the need to extract new raw materials, which conserves the environment they would have been taken from. Recycling reduces the amount of energy needed to remove raw materials, and the pollution that would have been generated by the extraction and transportation processes.

Game1,I think playing a recycling game is much more fun that just discussing recycling.

Learn about the three R’s of recycling: reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Discover a way to do each of these at home, at school, or in our community.”

In addition to discussing what can be recycled , Let's play this fun recycling bin game.

Before the recycling game, make f

six paper cups, one each for “Paper”, “Plastic,” “Glass,” “'Metal” "Special recycling requir

ed"and “Household waste” ,lable them and set them on the end table.

“You are going to be items that can be recycled, and you have to get to the correct recycling bin as quickly as possible.”

Call out the items below one at a time. You have to run and put the item in which recycling bin the item belongs to.

Milk jug

Cat food can

Pickle jar

Old homework papers

Junk mail

Tuna can

Jelly jar

Water bottle

Newspaper

Disposable pie plate

Ketchup bottle

Cereal box

Dog food can

Olive jar

Soup can

Magazines

He had a blast trying to get to the right bin as fast as he could!
