Together We Rise

In the past few weeks, things have gotten hard for people in China in the face of the virus. No Spring Festival gathering, no family reunion meals, no hanging out with friends, instead, we had masks on our faces, traffic controls, closed shops, delayed work days, temperature checks in public places, and slow delivery services. And unfortunately, some of us have become infected and they are isolated from their families, their loved ones, and have to be alone in the wards, and some don’t even have a chance to say goodbye. And what’s more, everyone has to deal with fear, worry, uncertainty, doubts, selfishness, rumors, discrimination and many other inconveniences.

The virus is a devil! Yes, the novel coronavirus is a devil. However, we Chinese people will not let it hide!

Chinese president, Xi Jingping said, “Nothing matters more than people’s safety and health.” And Chinese foreign Minister, Wang Yi, said at the 56th Munich Security Conference in Germany, “We resolve to protect the city of Wuhan, protect Hubei province, and protect ever fellow countryman who is struggling with the virus.” “If Wuhan wins the battle against the virus, Hubei will. If Hubei wins the battle, the nation will.”

To fight the epidemic, the Chinese government has paid great attention and made resolute efforts. The Party, the armed force, and the people of all ethnic groups stand together with Hubei and Wuhan .

Scientists are trying hard to develop the vaccine. And now they have isolated the first virus strain.

Doctors and nurses have rushed to Wuhan and are risking their lives on the frontline of the epidemic. No matter how exhausted they are, or how dangerous it is, they are still working day and night in hospitals. China is well being protected by the bravest of the Chinese people-doctors and nurses.

And most people have shown their understanding, taking medical advice and following the new rules, they just stay at home studying or working. Everyone is making sacrifices, small or big, to help fight the epidemic. And construction workers have built hospitals at amazing speeds. Drivers are transporting food and medical supplies to people who need help. Janitors are helping to clean the walls, door handles and floors. Factory workers are working around the clock to make new masks. Kind people are donating masks and gloves. And a lot of help is on the way.

And It’s not just a battle for the adults, but also for the students and children.

The Chinese children haven’t left their houses for more than one month. They really wanted to run outside and breathe freely without a mask, but they can’t. Feb 17 should have been the start of the spring semester for many middle and primary schools in China. However, to control the new coronavirus outbreak, many schools have delayed the start of the semester. But students in China are still studying. Most Chinese students have started their new semester by taking online classes. Now the students have to stay at home and work on their homework. And they are also trying to do some exercise indoors, believing that staying fit will help prevent the disease. As an adult, I want to say: Dear boys and girls, you have been doing a good job. You are also the fighters in this war! You are also heroes! Now things are better and better. You needn’t feel so scared any more. But you should still be careful. Remember: boys and girls, you are everything to your parents. You are the hope of China. You are the future of our nation! You have to stay healthy.

So right now, 1.4 billion Chinese people, united as one, have committed themselves to the strictest measures of epidemic prevention and control. China has full confidence and capability to win the battle against the outbreak of COVID-19. We don’t know how long this will take, or what cost we have to pay. But there’s one thing we are absolutely sure. And that is: we’ll definitely win this war in the end. Winter will eventually pass, and spring is sure to come.

Stay strong,Wuhan! Stay strong, boys and girls! Stay strong, China!
