The next year, a women's rights leader from Germany suggested the idea of an international celebration.</p><p><br></p><p>1909年2月28号，美国人第一次在国内庆祝妇女节。一年后，一位来自德国的女权领袖提出了庆祝国际妇女节的想法。</p><p><br></p><p>More than 1,000,000 people attended events in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland during the first International Women's Day.
