From the north of the Gushan Temple to the west of the Jia Pavillion，

The rising water of the West Lake mirrors the white clouds near the horizon.

几处早莺争暖树，谁家新燕啄春泥。

The orioles are racing to the top side of trees the sun facing.

I don't know whose new swallows are spring mud carrying.

乱花渐欲迷人眼，浅草才能没马蹄。

The colourful flowers will gradually dazzle people's eyes.

The green weeds can hardly swallow up the horses' hooves.

最爱湖东行不足，绿杨阴里白沙堤。

The east part of the lake is my favorite, never enough of wanderings,

For the Baisha Dike runs through the shadows of the green willows.

白居易（772-846），字乐天，号香山居士，是唐代伟大的现实主义诗人。白居易与元稹共同倡导新乐府运动，世称“元白”，与刘禹锡并称“刘白”。白居易的诗歌题材广泛，形式多样，语言平易通俗，有“诗魔”和“诗王”之称。有《白氏长庆集》（因编集于穆宗长庆年间，故名）传世，代表诗作有《长恨歌》、《卖炭翁》、《琵琶行》等。
