🖐🏻What is the sense of touch?

The sense of touch is a kind of feeling that you can feel when you touch, not specific one body part; the sense of touch is found all over your body.

Touch is one of the five main senses that animals have. It can be called the sense of body or the sense of touch. The system also sense temperature and pain. There is a special area in the brain used to processing of touch.

An animal knows if something is against a part of its body. This is called the sense of touch.

Humans, and mammals in general, often touch each other. Touch is a kind of non-verbal communication. Behaviours based on touch are very important for keeping family and group members together. It is part of the 'glue' of their social life. Monkeys grooming each other's fur is a good example.

Game1⃣️：Guessing game

Mom: Look! What's in my hands?

This is a magic box. There is something inside. Can you hear it?

Emma: Yes.

Mum: Do you want to know what it is?

Emma: Yes!

Mom: Please close your eyes and put your hand inside and tell me what it is.

It’s better that I use a blindfold to cover your eyes. Don’t peep, ok?

Emma: Ok!

Mom: Put your hands in and touch it.

What do you think it is?

Emma: It’s a block,

Mom: What shape is it?

Emma: Rectangle...

（Glue a coin, a cotton ball, a piece of sandpaper, an orange peel, a piece of tape sticky side up, and a piece of aluminum foil on different cards.）

Mum: Emma, We have a special game today.

Emma: What?

Mom: Firstly, we need to use the blindfold, and touch something on the table (place cards face up on table).

Secondly, You need to tell me what is on the card.

Emma: Ok!

Mom: Come to touch! What is it?

Emma: It is a cotton ball.

Mom: How do you feel? Is it hard or soft?

Emma: Soft.

Mom: Good! Next.

What is it? (Touching things one by one,)

What you need:

Five senses posters (eyes, nose, ears, tongue, hands)

“I Use My Five Senses” pictures

Objectives:

Children will name the five senses.

Children will name a body part for each of the five senses.

Children will describe how the five senses work together.

What you do:

Talk about what the world would be like if we could not see, could not hear, or could not smell or taste our food. Without our senses, we could not tell what is going on around us. Without senses, an animal could not find food or escape from danger.

Ask the following questions:

• What body part helps us to see things?

• What body part helps us to smell things?

• What body part helps us to taste things?

• What body part(s) helps us touch things?

• What body part helps us to hear things?

We can use our eyes, or our sense of sight, to look both ways before we cross the street, to enjoy a beautiful rainbow, and to pick out our clothes to wear.

We can use our nose, or sense of smell, to smell the food that we eat and the fragrances of flowers.

We can use our tongue, or our sense of taste, to taste the foods we eat.

We can use our hands and other parts of our body, or sense of touch, to tell if something is cold or hot and to feel the soft fur of a cat.

We can use our ears, or sense of sound, to hear beautiful music and the voices of our friends.

The different animals rely on different senses to survive.

For example, seeing is the most important for birds. Without seeing they can’t find food.

Bats use hearing to tell where they’re going and for hunting.

Snakes smell with their tongue. For people, hearing and seeing are the two most important senses.

Use felt pictures as you repeat the I Use My Hands rhyme with children.

Facts:

Eyes: Our eyes have special cells that help us pick up images.

Nose: There are special cells that line our noses that allow us to smell things.

Tongue: There are taste buds on our tongue that allow us to taste things.

Hands: We mostly feel with our hands and fingers, but we can also feel things all over our body because of special cells called nerves on our skin.

Ears: Our ears have a special drum in them to feel vibrations.

📚感官游戏玩起来总有一种奇妙的乐趣！Emma从小喜欢“我们的身体”这本书中可以触摸的部分，游戏也玩得不亦乐乎！

总结：口语可以做到整句输出，但是还不能自由表达和反馈。
