The natural world is a treasure trove of beautiful materials. Go on a nature hunt and see what you discover，then use your finds to create a mask.

What we need:

scissors

Black or cream card

pen

sticky tack

elastic 

glue

paintbrush 

leaves and natural items. 

(Many trees shed their leaves during autumn and winter, but evergreen trees keep their leaves all year round .)

steps:

1. cut mask shape from card. Cut the eye holes 
2. Push a pen through each side of the card into a piece of sticky tack 蓝胶 to make holes. thread the elastic through the holes and fasten
3. Glue your leaves and other items onto the mask.
   

• Making an origami paper crown
  

It’s your birthday, and it seems to me very important that at lunch-time you should get to wear a crown (because if you can’t be a king on your birthday, when can you?).

So how to fold it? In truth they involve folding single sheets of paper once and then simply slotting them together. You could do it with one hand whilst saving the world with the other. it is great fun and one of those rewarding things where you can feel like a genius with very little skill involved.

I made this origami paper because I love the vibrant /ˈvaɪbrənt/ 充满活力的 colours; any paper will do though, as long as it is square .

Take a sheet of origami paper and fold it in half to form a triangle. Repeat. Slot the triangle into the fold of the first sheet, and carry on, as below…

When you get to the end (use your head to measure roughly how many pieces you need), simply tuck the last triangle into the first one to complete the circle. The crowns should be sturdy enough to hold their own shape, especially if you push them together tightly, but you can always add a dab of glue into each fold to fix them permanently/ˈpɜːmənənt/ into shape. This is useful if your birthday person is young enough (or old enough, or tipsy enough) to be likely to drop it on the floor and tread /trɛd/踩on it, or sit on it.

It doesn’t matter which way you fit the triangles together (inside or outside of each other, or alternating/ɔːlˈtɜːnɪt/交替的) – fitting them together in the same direction gives the smooth striped effect of the crown

• Season tree
  

Have you noticed that some trees look different throughout the year? Capture the beauty of all four seasons with this model tree. This project can take a while. So save it for when you have got plenty of time

You will need 

pencil 

round plate 

card

orange, green, pink, blue, and brown sheets of card 

glue

paint

paintbrushes

paper 

things to decorate with, such as pom-poms and glitter.

Steps:

1. Draw an outline of a tree onto card, using a plate for the circle, cut it out, 
2. draw around the card template onto sheets of orange, green, pink, and blue card. Cut these out
3. sketch the outline of a tree trunk and branches onto the template and cut it out 
4. on brown card, draw around the trunk template and cut out a trunk. Repeat three times. So we have four trucks. 
5. Glue the trucks onto each colored tree 
6. Paint different colours onto paper. Once dry，cut out lots of leaf and grass shapes to decorate with. Mix the colors to create lots of pretty shades. (Some parts of the world only have two seasons, one rainny and one dry)
7. Glue the leaves and grass, along with pom-poms ,glitter and any other decorations to each tree .make each look like a season. 
8. In season order( spring, summer, autumn, winter. ),gently fold each tree inward down the center, and then glue the back of one half to half of the next tree. (Seasonal weather changes cause trees to look different through the year .cold weather and lack of sunlight makes leaves change color and fall.)

• Create a Weather Mobile

I have a budding萌芽的 meteorologist in our family. Let's do this artactivity inspired by the weather. You will combine natural materials ,household items and basic art materials to create a hanging weathermobile. The end result is a cool piece of artthat you can hang anywhere in the house!

What You Need:

2 sturdy /ˈstɜːdɪ/ sticks

Yarn

Cardboard

Paper

Cotton balls

Glue/Scotch tape 透明胶带

Scissors

Water color paint and brushes

Crayons

Hole punch

What to Do

1. put on your smock and here we go.Take a trip outdoors and collect two sticks that are about the same length.
2. Search our house for reusable paper or cardboard materials. These can include(but are not limited to )cereal boxes, cracker boxes, shoe boxes, or blank sides of posters. Then we need to draw some weather symbols on the corrugated /ˈkɒrəɡeɪtɪd/ 瓦楞纸 board using oil pastels.
3.  Name the four seasons. (Once she has named all four, discuss what types of weather you might see and feel during each season.)What type of weather can you see and feel during Spring?
4. I want to Invite you to create a summer sun drawing. Tell me what shape the sun is and then draw it using crayons
5. Cut out the sun shape, and draw the same sunny picture on the back. Then punch a hole near the top of the summer sun.
6. Next,  create a cloudy day creation创作 for the mobile by drawing a cloud shape on the cardboard. cut the shape out
7. Glue cotton balls to one side of the shape and set it aside to dry
8.  Once it's dry ,turn it over and over the other side with cotton balls. When the second side is dry,punch a hole near the top of the cloud. You should end up with a soft, fluffy cloud
9. To make the snow part of the mobile, please hand me a piece of white paper. Fold the paper in half,and then in half again. Use the scissors to cut small slits and shapes in the paper .Unfold to reveal a snowflake! Then punch a hole near the top
10. Draw a rain drop shape and cut it out. Using the water colors (after all, raindrops are water!  )paint the raindrop. Once dry, punch a hole near the top
11. Try to thread a piece of yarn through each weather pattern hole, tying a knot to secure it
12. Cross the sticks to make a plus sign and wrap the yam around the spot where both sticks cross.Tie securely, and add another piece of yarn tied to the middle to hang the mobile from
13.  Tie the sun, clouds, snow, and rain to one end of each stick.(I Tie the weather symbols onto different locations of one branch to create my weather mobile.)
14. Hang the weather mobile up, and keep the project going by asking your child to point each morning to the side that matches the days weather!
