When we pulled out the carrots, luckly we saw the earthworm.

Worms are essential for the wellbeing of plants. The tunnels allow water to reach the roots and the process of the worm eating soil releases nutirents needed by the plants. Worms are also a source of food for other animals.

Earthworms have no eyes or ears, but are very sensitive to vibrations.

Worms are often eaten by hedgehogs, birds, frogs and toads.

They tunnel underground by eating the soil.

Earthworms feed on leaves and the remains of dead plants.

We asked what kinds of seed are shortly to germinate , Chinese cabbage needs less days.

First we use the hoe to weed, get rid of useless grass and some little rocks. next we use the rake to loose the soil with lines, make the soil sooth. then we water the soil to make it moist . finally we sow the seed , we sprinkle some of the seeds evenly , sometimes i told Chloe put the seeds in the soil singly with some distance .

On the one patch of soil, we saw the chicken manuar mixing some of the old vegetable leaves. I think they are considered to the compost.😂

In the evening, we set up the barbecue, just some simpe food.

The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar cycles. Start of Spring (Chinese: 立春), the first solar cycle of the year, begins this year on Feb 4 and ends on Feb 18.

传统的中国农历将一年分为24个节气，“立春”是一年中的第一个节气。今年的“立春”节气从2月4日始，到18日结束。

Start of Spring：" lifts the curtain of Spring". After everything turns green and full of vigour; people clearly see the daytime becoming longer and the weather becoming warmer.

“立春”拉开了春季的帷幕。此后万物复苏，充满勃勃生机。人们也能明显感觉到白天开始变长，天气回暖。

立春：Start of Spring 是不是很简单的说法呢？此外，我们还可以用Spring Begins来指“立春”。

Even though many places in China are still shuddering in chill this year, the country has waved goodbye to winter and ushered in spring on Monday, according to the Chinese lunar calendar.

"Lichun" falls on Feb 4 this year. It is considered the beginning of spring and is the first of the 24 solar terms of the Chinese lunar calendar.

Lichun, known as “the beginning of springs”, is the first solar term in the 24 solar terms of China. Chinese people consider Lichun as the beginning of spring. The date for Lichun usually comes at February 4 or February 5 in Gregorian calendar when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 315° and ends when the celestial longitude reaches 330° (usually at February 19).

When a year comes to the Lichun period, people will easily find that the days are becoming longer and the sun becomes warmer in China. Temperature, sunshine hour and rainfall are on the turning point of a year, on a rising trend. Therefore, Lichun has long been a popular solar term in China, because it brings people warmness and hope.

Farmers in China often celebrate Lichun with special events, such as worshiping and offering to the gods. They hold ceremonies in order to pray for a blissful and prosperous new year to come. In the lunar calendar, Chinese New Year might come before or after Lichun.
