A Mother bird sat on her egg.

The egg jumped.

译：鸟妈妈坐在她下的鸟蛋上(孵化)，鸟蛋动弹了。鸟妈妈想，要是宝贝出生了，得有食物吃。

“I must get something for my baby bird to eat ! ” she said .

So away she went .

译：(想到这儿)鸟妈妈决定去给将要出生的鸟宝贝弄些吃的东西，于是它飞走了。

(注：在英语里表达为了其人做某事，常用句型)：

例句1.

Inside the nest ,

the egg Jumped

It jumped

Until out came a baby bird !

译：这时鸟巢里的鸟蛋在不停地滚动直到鸟宝贝出壳！

(英语里表达直到某一时点上才出现的云情形用“until”一词)

“Where is my mother ? ”

he said .

He did not see her anywhere .

译：(鸟宝贝出壳后不见妈妈在身边)妈妈去了哪里呢？鸟宝贝说，他不知道妈妈究竟去哪了。

“I will go and look for her , ”

he said .

译：“我要去找妈妈，”鸟宝贝说。

Out of the nest he went.

译：鸟宝贝来到鸟窝外边沿处，(不留意)扑通跌落下去。

这里第一句是倒装句，正常语序：

He went out of the nest.

采用倒装句，可避免主谓，头重脚轻。

The baby bird could not fly.

But he could walk.

“Now I will go and find my mother,” he said.

译：鸟宝贝虽说不能飞，但它会走。

它说“现在我就去找我的妈妈”
