Our solar system consists of eight planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, and their satellites. Right until 2006, Pluto was considered as the ninth planet in the solar system, but in accordance with the current formal classification of planets, it is no longer considered one. The moon is a satellite of planet Earth. It also consists of the sun, asteroids, comets, and interplanetary dust and gas. All these orbit the sun, it being at the center.

The planets are divided into two groups; the inner planets consist of Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars (the smaller ones), and the outer planets consist of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune (the larger ones). Jupiter is the largest while Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system. Scientists believe that our solar system is about 5 billion years old. The sun is a large star and because of its ability to provide sunlight, life has evolved on the earth. Earth is also abundant in water, another element which is vital for plant and animal life to thrive.

The first one is Mercury.

This is Venus, the second planet from the sun.

It’s the hottest and the brightest planet.

It’s too hot for anyone, bare and dry.

This is Earth, the planet we live on.

It’s the only planet with organic life.

Plus a moon is very near.

It gets heat and light from the sun.

It’s blue and beautiful.

Take care of Earth because we are all one.

This is Mars, the fourth planet from the sun.

It’s red in color and has the highest mountain in our solar system.

This is Jupiter ,the super duper Jupiter

It’s the largest heaviest and strongest planet.

Heavier than 30 earths, as big as 1300 earths.

It has 67 moons around .

This is Saturn. It’s brown.

It has an icy pretty ring.

It’s the sixth planet from the sun.

This is Uranus.

It’s the coldest one.

People call it icy planet.

The last one is Neptune. It’s color is pretty blue.

It’s the eighth planet from the sun.Having lots of wind and cyclones.

It has too many storm in atmosphere.

It’s the farthest planet from the sun.
